“Cake Camp Jul. 18-21”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

It was my first time at GVR and it was really nice. Staff helpful, spacious and clean rooms. The way to our room was a bit tricky. The cake Camp took up most of my time, so I didn't have anytime to go to the spa or shopping area. Buffet was good and a good price for what was offered, which was international food. Overall, a very good experience.

Room Tip: Ask for the West tower, it's easier to get to from the lobby.

GVR remains a lovely place to day visit, spend the night, or enjoy some gaming. The staff is helpful, professional, and friendly. The room we were "given" was lovely, clean, and very comfortable. There was a small problem finding it, however. The desk clerk failed to describe a stairway we needed to climb to reach the correct elevator to return down to the first floor. The desk, by the way, is ON the first floor. We experienced a very disappointing dinner at Terra Verde, a previously excellent restaurant inside the casino. The service and the food failed to meet our expectations, and were quite common at uncommon prices. So, hotel/casino were great, but dining...not so much. Ruined our evening, in fact.

Went there for a convention. We find out that their complimentary shuttle is every 2 hours so we rented a car. First of all bad signage cause they have used this font that after the light kicks on you can't see it until you are few hundred yards away from the sign. And its off the interstate - and in Vegas people drive crazy.
Parked our car and we find out that out of 4 elevators only 1 is working. Then we walked across the entire property to get to the lobby. Which is like a maze.
While checking in Eric the manager tells us that he has the last room available for us and also reconfirm our rate and reservations and told us that our resort fee with wifi is included in our rate. I had messed up on that and we had to add an extra day.
Well, little did we know that one wing does not go to the second floor so we had to walk back through the resort to get on the other side of the wing. We finally get to our room and turns out to be a smoking room. We called Eric and he was not there and we went back down to the lobby. They gave us a mini suite and told us that we would have to check out the next day as soon as they have a regular room available. Well, turns out when I went in for a shower - there is no hot water in the shower only available in hand sink. It was late at night and we did not worry to complain and took a cold shower.
Next day the manager tells us we can stay in the same room. So after we get back from our conference we call in the hot water issue. Waited 45 minutes nobody showed up. I gave up and took another cold shower. Well guess what - nobody showed up all night. We checked out from this hotel and left to get a room on the strip.
And now when I see my credit card bill they have charged me an additional resort fee which ERIC had confirmed that it is included in my daily rate.
GREEN VALLEY RANCH you really know how to mess up a stay.

Room Tip: Do get yourself another hotel if possible

We hadn't stayed at the GVR in years but had an opportunity to have a belated 14th wedding anniversary spa day and decided to stay the night before in the hotel.

The hotel and casino is starting to show it's age a little, but the staff is still as courteous and professional as the first time we stayed 8 years ago. Because we were staying one night we were upgraded to the king suite with pool view. Personally, I don't book rooms often based on an increased fee due to a view, but if you have never stayed at GVR, the view beyond the pool is the Las Vegas Strip, unobstructed, which is nice.

Clean room, nice bed and linens. Yes, the TV channel selection is slim but if you are staying here for that you are missing out on the other amenities.

The pool area is fantastic with sand area for kids, water features, multiple pool areas, cabanas, chairs in the water, lounges; everything to make your lounging at the pool enjoyable. The wait staff and drink selection is great and pool temperature perfect for escaping the Las Vegas desert heat.

The only negatives were that we had to jiggle the handle on the toilet in our room to stop it from running and the breakfast in the Grand Cafe was a little bland.

One thing to budget in if you book a stay is the Spa; Early morning workout, a late morning Swedish Massage (We had a couples massage) and the rest of the day relaxing at the Spa pool and facilities is well worth it.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for a room with a view unless you have never seen the strip. 2nd floor is also a...

We spent one night here in transit from The Grand Canyon to San Diego. Having previously spent 3 nights at Mandalay Bay, we found it to be a little isolated from the bright lights of the strip, which is fine if that's what you're after. We booked two months in advance and specified that we needed inter connecting rooms because we were travelling with three children. We arrived at 3:30pm to be told that no interconnecting rooms were available and that the available rooms were not ready yet and reception could not give an estimate of when it would be ready. We drove around and looked at some shops for two hours before returning to be told that our room was still not ready. After making our displeasure very clear we were quickly allocated two rooms in the same corridor, not connected. The property itself was beautiful, without the sense of madness that accompanies many hotels on the strip. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable, very comfortable beds and pillows. Our first impression was spoilt by a poor check in experience, but one would hope that this was an isolated incident.

I recently spent a week at the GVR resort with my mom and daughter. Everything about the hotel was positive with the exception of the complimentary shuttle service the hotel offers between the hotel and airport and the hotel and Las Vegas strip. We were attending a convention and loved the convenience of everything. The rooms are beautifully decorated, beds very comfortable, and housekeeping does a thorough job. The restaurants were wonderful and my daughter loved the food court! The shuttle.....the van only seats 14 people. We were told that the hotel does not schedule "extra vans" even when the hotel is expecting large numbers of people for conventions, etc. We waited two hours for shuttle service between the airport and the hotel. Later in the week, we took the shuttle to the strip but were unable to get a seat on a return shuttle later in the day. We took a $40 cab ride. Again, I would like to say that our overall stay was a great one. We hope to stay there again!

We have been staying at the Green Valley Ranch for the last 5 or 6 of our trips to Las Vegas.

We just love this property!!! We love everything about it. The staff are all so very friendly and
always have a smile and a pleasant greeting for you. My husband and I are from Hawaii so our
vacations are very important to us and are always sad when we have to return home after having
stayed at GVR.

One of the most important assets to GVR is our Casino Host, J.R. He is always so cordial and
friendly with us and is a valuable asset to the Green Valley Ranch. It is always so important
that your first impression and introduction to the hotel/casino. We are ecstatic and so impressed
with J.R.! Senior Management should be so proud that you have J.R. to represent GVR!!!!

We will continue to return to GVR!!! Keep the great work!!! GVR is such a beautiful property and offers so many wonderful services.

Thank you to all the staff and to especially our Casino Host, Mr. Juan Rojas (J.R.).

Love and Aloha,

Rodney and Pat Nicely
