“A Wonderful Place to Vacation!”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

After a sudden death in my family, I had many people arriving here in Henderson looking for a place to stay.

Although there was a blackjack tournament going on that weekend and hotel fully booked, the host who was so understanding and helpful was able to find a room there for my family to stay. I took them over to the hotel which I had never been in before as I usually only go to the casino there. It was SO CLEAN, SO BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED AND WITH A GREAT VIEW OF THE POOLS! The whole staff could not have been more courteous and eager to help in any way they could.

From now on, when I have friends coming to this area, I will recommend this wonderful resort! It is far enough away from the crowded "strip" but close enough that you can be there in 20 minutes IF you really want to leave!

Room Tip: There isn't a bad room there!!

This is a beautiful resort. Guest services were great, food delicious...especially at the pool! Casino of course smoky (not heavy smoke...I am a non smoker and any smoke smell is going to be strong) We did gamble some anyways. Restaurants looked fabulous. Got great reviews from other people that did go. The pool has a beach-sand area. Kids loved it. There is a 21+ pool near the beautiful large pool. Drinks were fabulous. Rooms were beautiful. overall- excellent. Shuttle to and from airport was super!

Room Tip: My bestie got breakfast and said it was awesome! The food was great. There is "the District&quo...

Was in Vegas to babysit our granddaughter while parents were at a conference at GVR. Not a gambler so I can't write a review of the casino although it appeared clean - might have a problem with it if you are not a smoker.
The room I stayed in - king deluxe in west tower - was spacious; however, the bathroom had major issues, which were shared with housekeeping but not addressed by the hotel. The toilet did not flush completely, the facets in the but leaked and water ran all over the floor and would have created a slippery fall issue had it not been mopped up with towels and the shower held water up to your ankles - my daughter had the same standing water issue in her room. There was no coffee pot, microwave and the fridge was for the mini bar only - so no room to keep anything for a toddler.
The bed was comfortable and there are a number of places to eat. The pool area was nice and the grounds were well maintained. Appears the outside is more important than the inside.
Make sure that if you have an early flight and need a bellhop you ask the night before. They don't plan for this.

Room Tip: The west tower was quite.

Bert Cirincione runs the best race & sports book in Las Vegas. The race book is comfortable and set up perfectly for race playing and sports betting. The GVR team are professionals that really cater to the race/sports fans. This is one of the only places in Las Vegas where you feel respected as a horseplayer. Bert pays personal attention to all patrons and always remembers you. We hadn't seen Bert for almost a year and he took good care of our crew during the Derby. The GVR is a beautiful and relaxing hotel casino - first class. The restaurants are also outstanding. The GVR gets a big thumbs up!

It's a pretty nicely maintained hotel, although it could do with an update. I had requested a nonsmoking room with queen beds, but apparently the fine print on the website contains some weasel words that they can assign you whatever room they feel like on the day that you arrive. So upon arrival I was given the choice between a smoking room or pay a lot extra for a king suite with a rollaway single bed. So rather than spending the night in comfort I ended up paying a bunch of extra money for the honor to sleep in a rollaway single bed with inferior linens covered in hair. Vegas has a reputation for sleaze, but this place goes a step beyond that.

Room Tip: Book a room at another hotel.

This place is wonderful, beautiful, and accomodating. Would rate it excellant but for a few small things. No coffee pot in room or in the lobby; some communication errors within the staff: front desk could not tell us how to work the safe in the room; need passes to get on their shuttle to the strip; again not passed on to us. Other than that, it's a great place to stay. Not far from the strip but quiet and easy to get there. Would definitely stay there if we ever went back.

Room Tip: Only 17 smoking rooms. Upgrade to a balcony if you smoke.

We returned to the Green Valley Resort and Spa because of their spa. It's a double edged sword giving up our secrets here, but we enjoy the spa pool, massage selection, fitness center, and the overall quietness of an otherwise loud Las Vegas. The staff at the hotel was very responsive to our needs our requests. Navigating their reservation systems was a bit frustrating, but once we got there we were able to fix the problem. We book a cheap room, then requested the $75 upgrade for a ground level room with patio. Sweet! Spacious rooms too!
The spa is well staffed, though we did have a minor issue when we noted that several patrons were disruptive and loud and the staff said "This is Vegas, get used to it". Ouch! The manager comped us a massage. Other than that, we've never had a bad remark from the GVR.
They used to have coffee out in the lobby in the morning for guests, but alas no more. Front desk said we had to go all the way into the casino cafe to get some or call room service. We called room service for $20. It was enough for two to get the day started.
Casino was smoky, didn't have many 21 tables, and the ones they did have all were $25 min tables. Ouch again! Didn't play there.
Good size pool with cabanas and beach, adult clothing optional pool if that's your style but we found it was frequented by males mostly.
Pool service needs to catch up to technology. While at spa pool we ordered drinks and fish tacos for lunch, yet the wait person had to take order then walk all the way back to the main pool to order then later bring our order. If she forgot something such as a straw for your drink, forgettabout it. They need to use touch pads with credit card readers or room charge ability to stream line the process. But the tacos are worth $14 though. 3 yummy tacos with chips. Spa opens at 6am and closes at 8 pm. Great way to be lazy on vacation.
Easy to get to strip, and they do have a shuttle service though we uses the valet parking every time. When I mentioned my car was a Ferrari, they still brought a rental Camry. Alamo accepted it back though.
Though we did encounter some changes from previous stellar stays, the GVR was very responsive to our remarks.
Anyway, we love the GVR and have stayed there several times along with friends, have recommended it to friends like you all the time. We do stay on the strip on occasion, but for us it's the GVR or bust.

Room Tip: See if you can book a cheap room, they add the upgrade. Much less expensive that way.
