We came out with our 5 year old to go to the NASCAR race at Las Vegas Speedway and visit relatives. We selected a hotel that was near our relatives and not to close to the speedway. Before children, we stayed on the Vegas Strip all the time but since we have evolved into parents we have to be considerate of the little ones. This hotel is defintitely family friendly and pet friendly. While we left our dog at home, there was a couple of guests with their furry best friend going through the hotel. This hotel is perfect for families because you can store formula, milk or other items that need refrigeration without worrying if it may spoil in a small fridge.
The entry way to the hotel was welcoming and they had little doggy treats at the front desk. They had a wall listing all the major attractions in the area. They had a nice sitting area and they also served a nice decent breakfast in the morning with cereal, yogurt, bagels, fruit, milk, juice, coffee, and tea. What I absolutely loved about this hotel is the fact that is has a full size kitchen with regular sized applicances and a decent refridgerator. We brought popcorn, snacks and had a place to store them that didn't looked out of the ordininary.
While we had a king sized bed, the room also had a pull out couch where our son had a great time sleeping in his own bed. Near the hotel there is a car wash, gas station and up the block there is a Wal-greens, Albertson's and some fast food restaurants. There is an closed up restaurant next to the hotel property which I had hoped would be open since it would be nice to walk to a restaurant but perhaps in the future it will be something else.
The only downside to the hotel is parking. During the day close parking is plentiful but at night it gets packed. Since the Townplace shares a parking lot with another Marriott hotel, the close by parking spaces get full fast. Don't get me wrong, there is enough parking but if you want to get a space near the main enterance to the hotel, you will have to retire early to bed because all the good spots fill up quick at night.
Overall, we will be back again this summer and this is where we are going to stay again the next time we visit the Henderson/Las Vegas area.
