“Westin Pet Friendly hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2012

The Westin Lake Las Vegas is a great family holiday destination. Kid friendly pool with waterslide, activities, artificial beach front to the lake. Lots of room to run around in. I myself don't have kids, thats just what I saw. Where i felt it was a bit lacking was the choice of dining. Due to its location, you're kind of stuck within the resort and we ended up eating at the same cafe about 7 times during our stay which got tiresome. The nicer restaurant has great food, a bit pricey, but it isn't open on sunday monday so that was disappointing as those were the nights we really wanted to eat there. The whole pet friendly thing is hilarious, they go so far as to offer doggy room service and doggy massage. I don't have a dog myself but i am sure if i felt so inclined as to go on a trip with my pet, well, this would be the place to go. Dogs aren't allowed everywhere so for those non dog people, don't worry, you won't be surrounded or anything like that.

They do have a LOT of events here, weddings, functions, fashion shows etc. We did get 'moved along' from the outside terrace due to a function which was a bit annoying as it was hot but in the evening no one wanted to sit indoors as we'd all had enough air con. There is a small cafe on site, says its starbucks but the coffee was terrible by my standards - but i am a VERY harsh coffee critic :)

The staff were lovely. A recent change in ownership I think has a few people confused but all in all, its value for money I guess. not too overly priced but more suited to a family style few days away. Not much in the way of kids dining though. Same cafe as mentioned before.

The westin is by far the best hotel that i have ever stayed at every room is equipped with a flat screen and the service is superb we ordered towels at the front desk and the towels almost beat us to our room every room has a coffee machine and has two pools, one is for children who will love and the other is near a bar in which there are a variety of alcoholic drinks

This was a hotel of the highest standard, large spacious rooms with wonderful views. Plenty of affordable food and beverage choices onsite and excellent conference facilities. But if you want to be close to the action on the strip then I would stay closer to the action on the strip. A taxi to anywhere will set you back a lot of money. Unfortunately I found out about the free airport and "strip" shuttle too late. This would be a great hotel for a holiday if you want to relax by the pool or host a convention/conference, otherwise there is not many nearby local attractions.

Room Tip: Make the most of the hotel shuttle service, don't pay for a taxi!

The Westin had the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend. Then the LOUD pool music from 12:00 to 5:00 had many of us complaining to the management and finally retreating to our rooms to escape the noise. The day manager listened to our concerns but the music continued to play on. VERY, VERY disappointing weekend.

Room Tip: Call ahead to understand the recreation (Pool) activities

We stayed at the Westin Lake Las Vegas, on our way back to Las Vegas. The hotel itself is good, up to the standard you would expect. We had dinner at the Japanese Restaurant which is very high quality. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Actually there were more staff than customers on the day we stayed there :-) My husband was quite disappointed that the golf course opposite the hotel was closed, but all in all we had a good rest at the Westin after our week in the Canyons

This Hotel is worth it, if you have family with children, because have a lot activity for them..
but is not for a single persons.

45 minutes ride to " The Strip"...is not a good option if you want to stay close to this area...

The hotel staff were all very helpful.

Valet was a great help. Front desk was very engaging and helpful!

I ordered a house salad it was amazing! It was more than a typical salad! We ordered in pizza as they do not have it on the menu and the kids got to pick and the staff was very helpful to help us pick the right place.

We used the pool which was great! The only bad part was every area in the outside area is gated off. We were the only ones using it so we were able to prop open the gates to move around easier. We have 4 kids and it would have been a pain to have to open the gate every time someone wanted to change pools. There is an adult pool and activity pool but the towels are located at the adult pool area you have to go up stairs and gate to get them. I think this is the one area for improvement.

The outside lounge area was really nice. Very relaxing.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the lake.
