I just returned from a 2 night, 3 day stay at this hotel. I was there on a business trip. I was really happy with the location. This is a great choice for anyone who is looking for a different experience than the strip can deliver. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive from the airport. The setting is really nice with a beautiful lake and palm trees. The hotel is very well kept. The front entrance of the hotel has lots of bright colored flowers that are just stunning. The hotel has a moroccan type feel that is very warm and inviting. I had a room on the 8th floor overlooking the lake which was nice. The room itself was nicely decorted and included complimentary bottles of water. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the room with coffee and hot chocolate. There is also a safe, refrigerator, ironing board, iron, hair dryer and absolutely sumptuous robes. The food at the hotel is good but a little pricey. The lunch meals run around $14 for a sandwich and fries. From what I could see, you can expect to pay at least $30 for a dinner meal. They do have a nice express cafe where you can purchase coffee. This cafe has fresh fruit, soup and snacks that are sold for a very reasonable price. I had a cup of clam chowder soup for $3.00 which was pretty good. I believe this cafe is only open during breakfast and lunch. The pool areas are just wonderful with lots of loungers and palm trees. There are two pool areas. The upper pool area has several beautiful cabana areas (I believe these are rented for an additional fee) and a hot tub. The lower pool area is more focused on the kids and has a water slide and a play area. There is a swim beach that is really nice. You can rent kayaks or paddle boats from the swim beach. You can also rent bicycles. Everything in the hotel is very clean and maintained. The staff is accomodating and friendly. There is a nice bar area that you can enjoy. There is also a great outdoor area with firepits. I visited the spa which was an awesome experience. This is an Aveda Spa. I was extremely happy with the massage and facial I had. We visited the village which is just a short 5 minute drive away from the hotel one night for dinner. There is a small casino here which I enjoyed - it was a very low key type of place. The village is really charming. I didn't get to do a lot of exploring but it looked like there were a few restaurants and shops to check out. I went on a tour of the Hoover Dam which is about 45 minutes away. This is really worth the time if you haven't seen it before. I would definitely recommend this resort to travelers that are looking for a destination that is off the main strip. I am looking forward to returning again at some point in the future!

I stayed at the Westin Resort and Spa for two weekdays. It is a very beautiful place with several tranquil locations inside and outside. It has very friendly, yet busy staff members. The food is great from room service. The staff is the best when you have a question if they are not already helping someone else. There is a place to print out boarding passes and Bell service is ready to help with all your luggage and items you need moved. We had our daughters wedding in the Lotus garden. It was absolutely one of the most beautiful evenings I have ever experienced with its waterfalls and three fireplaces. And it overlooks Lake Las Vegas. The pool area with its cabanas and sandy beach area are really inviting and the gift shop, boutique, Ricks Cafe, Arabesque bar area, and deli have great food and drink offerings. I had fresh strawberries to munch on as I wandered the resort. IT was so peaceful and in the morning I was able to enjoy a patio area and listen to the birds chirping among the many palm trees and flower beds you can enjoy around the resort. Also, I enjoyed getting my hair done at their hair salon. Those women know how to do hair! and make-up!!YOu just have to remember to keep your appt time correct. I truly enjoyed my stay even though I probably will not be able to visit again because I was there only for my daughters wedding. But If I could, I would definitely stay again. It is a distance away from those wild and noisy Las Vegas hotels and it almost seems like another world. Its a great place.
