“The closest thing to a nice restaurant in Hawthorne”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

With a name like "The Refinery" we thought it sounded pricey but we had eaten everywhere else in the town and thought we'd give it a try.
Well, it wasn't cheap but not ridiculously priced either.
It was nicely decorated and we found the dining room comfortable.
The server was alone and very busy but she gave us adequate service and was nice if not super friendly.
I took the advice of many reviewers and got a sandwich. Let me tell ya, this thing was delicious! It was the Nevada Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It was HUGE! It had a really good ciabatta type bun that really made it. The other sandwiches I saw looked just as good.
My friend decided to go against the grain and get the fish and chips. He said they were good but was eyeing my sandwich...
Our bill was about $27 with two sodas.
Go for it. It was good.

“Great sandwich”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

Great restaurant in the middle of Hawthorne,NV.sandwich recommended by our waitress to my wife and she still talks about it.Chicken with bacon and an assortment of other things on homemade bread. My wife is trying to get me to duplicate it,but I cannot come close( so far.) the service person was efficient, but could use some more personality, bit it was the middle of the day,so I don't expect a floor show.
Highly recommend for the food and cleanliness.Should have gone back for breakfast, but we had a lot more exploring to do.

“Good Food, Large Portions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

We’ve stopped here a couple of times for lunch while passing through. It’s a great place for fresh food in large portions. Our first experience was with the Monte Cristo sandwich, which was enough for a family. On the most recent stop we shared a club sandwich. Again, delicious and more than the two of us could eat. The bread is locally made, the turkey was carved from a roasted bird – not processed. And the bacon was plentiful. The potato salad side tasted homemade and delicious. The only drawback is that the servers are always in back when we enter, and we have to wait to be seated. But once seated the service is attentive and friendly. Definitely on our list when in Hawthorne.

“Food Good, Service Slow”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Stopped here for lunch after reading about it on TA. We ordered the BLT (w/o mayo) on their homemade wheat bread. The sandwich was very good with plenty of bacon. The restaurant wasn't crowded when we visited and there were two servers working the dining room. We got our menus right away and our order was taken fairly quickly; but, it took about 30 minutes to get our sandwich (30 minutes for a BLT w/o mayo...really?). Then, we waited and waited and waited for someone to bring the check. Why didn't we ask one of the two servers to bring it? Well, that's because we couldn't find them.

“great BLT”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

The restaurant interior was very update and clean with excellent and friendly service. I ordered a BLT that had the largest serving of bacon and great toasted bread. The potato salad was obviously a house special, tasty and huge serving. Would definitely go back when passing through.
