Location is great: right in downtown near other shops and restaurants. The hotel, and it's cleanliness, is average, but you get what you pay for. Staff is friendly. No pool. Our A/C actually heated the room and we could only cool it down opening the windows [if you can sleep with the road noise]. While we can't find where to rank Eureka restaurants, please avoid the Eureka Cafe next door: it needs more than Restaurant Impossible. It is now chinese food [perhaps safer to eat the 3 american items]. Nothing tasted like anything I've eaten before. Two of our party didn't get their serving until 20 minutes later [only one other table being served, who came later and go their food - with some mistakes by the chef] before us. Food awful, service awful. Prices not cheap.

We were very well welcome by a nice old man on the reception. He told us very funny histories about the city and the people. He gave us very good indications about where to eat. The bedroom was standart but very confortable. Sometimes we took a electrical shock to turn on and turn on the lights and touching metal objects, but I think that's normal in desert areas... so be carefull.

This place is a little worn around the edges, but don't let that fool you. It's clean, quiet, inexpensive, and has suprisingly plush towels. The town is small but the Sundown Lodge is right across the street from the general store and local hotspot.

Eureka won the distinction of being night #1 on a weeklong Nevada Roadtrip with my boyfriend. Assigned with hotel reconnaissance, I daydreamed of surprising him with romantic stay at a grand ol' dame like The Jackson House and living happily ever after.

You, Wise Traveller, probably already know the score: there are only two operating motels in town as of writing, and neither are on historic registries. This one happens to be $40-50 cheaper than the other one, and looking to keep the creditors from repossesing our memories of the trip, I booked it. I figured if it was a super dive, that $40 could go a long way in buying beer and giddy delirium.

Lo and behold, the towels are thick, the sheets soft, the whole joint was squeaky clean, and the staff was friendly! It was the closest place to all the action too. It's directly across the street from hearty fare at the Owl Club and catty cornered from the elegant Opera House and colorful Raine's Market. They even reserved the room weeks in advance without requiring a form of payment until we showed up. There's something awfully refreshing about the honor system and Eureka, Nevada! Try to make it for a show at the Opera House if you can.

A basic sort of motel room: older decor, a little worn, everything in working order, bed comfortable enough. Free WiFi. Be sure to make reservations: the motel is popular with drillers (mine exploration workers); during part of our stay, the motel was completely full. The walls are a bit thin, so we heard the drillers getting up at 5:00 a.m. to go to work. Happily, everybody in the motel was focused on sleeping at night, so we did get a decent night's sleep.

Great location: right across the street from the market and one of the few open restaurants in town. We'd stay there again; it's a good value.

We were planning a weekehnd in Eureka, NV for the Fair and Rodeo and made reservatiohns at this Lodge months in advance. We get up there on a Friday night and are told we don't have reservations. Rumor around town was this Lodge rented the rooms out to Minors wanting weekly rates and didn't even try to call and let us know. There was no where else in town available. I strongly urge you to NOT TRUST this establishment or you too could find yourself with no room. Very, very poor management at this place.
