“Seems To Be Popular With Locals”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

Our meal at Machi's got off to a slow start. When we arrived it took a couple of minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence despite the fact there were at least two servers behind the bar and one more on the floor. Once we were seated, service was friendly and efficient.

The food we had was average. Machi's had some pretty expensive items on the menu, which might have been tastier than the cheaper meals we ordered - but we were in the mood for something to eat and not an expensive dining experience. My husband had Chicken Parmigiana, which he deemed edible but didn't really care for the masses of pasta covering the chicken. I had a Chicken Chimilada, which was O.K. The meal came with salad and bread.

We enjoyed the ambiance. Machi's is a bar/saloon/restaurant with a nice western theme and seems to be family friendly and very popular with the locals.

“Machi's Saloon & Grill 450 Commercial St, Elko, NV on 15 May 2013”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

I ate a great meal here at lunch on May 15th. We went at noon, and they were busy but we waited less than 10 minutes. Each of us had a different item and everything look and tasted great. Great service also. The meatball soup was wonderful as was the roast beef sandwich.

This was our first visit to Machi's. It has a great menu that represents many cuisenes. Service and presentation was good.

“Overpriced and underwhelming”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

We were at Machi's for dinner last night. We had tried to go before, but there was always a long wait for a table. We thought that it was a good sign. The service was good! I ordered the prime rib off the bone, and my guy had linguini in clam sauce. The meals came with a salad that was all lettuce, except for two thinly sliced mealy tomatoes and some thin sliced red onions. The house garlic dressing was slightly fishy-tasting, and my blue cheese dressing was bland. The prime rib looked beautiful, but it had this salty, manufactured, beef-brothy tasting au jus ladled over it that put me off entirely. The vegetable medley was crisp, but was floating in that store-bought au-jus. Also, the meat, although easy to cut, was tough to chew. My guy's linguini had plenty of clams, but they were so tiny and floating in a weak tasting, watery-sauce with garlic pieces that tasted like their garlic came from a jar. We did not enjoy this meal, and will not return.
