We were really pleased with our visit to this museum. What a pleasure to see memorabilia of Bing Crosby, one of my favorite singers. They had an extensive collection of artifacts from around the area.

The lady at the desk was so friendly. She took pics of me and kids on wagon. Everything was neat and great gift shop selection.

We always bring friends from out of state to visit the museum! The displays and exhibits tell the story of early Nevada in a fun and interesting way. From early prospecting to modern gold mining the visitor is shown how mining effects the economy of Northern Nevada. There is a complete newspaper office with a typesetter and composing stone. And don't forget the entire wing of taxidermy specimens from around the world! A donation of $5.00 per person is collected at the door, but well worth it!

In searching for breakfast on an overnight stop, we drove by the Northeastern Nevada Museum and something outside caught our eye. After breakfast and reloading the car, we stopped at the Museum before restarting our trip east.

This is an amazing museum! Although it has been almost nine months since we were there, we still remember some of the permanent exhibits (especially the stuffed animals on the mountain) and the juried art exhibit from which we purchased a photograph by a local artist.

The volunteer and paid workers who staffed the Museum were very interesting. Some of them are locals and some transplants to Elko. All had interesting stories and conveyed a love of the area and helped us understand why they lived here.

It is cerainly worth an hour or so if you are in the neighborhood or just driving through.

Visited while on business trip in Elko. The museum itself won't take you longer than an hour to an hour and a half to do properly, but it's clean, efficient, friendly, and had lots of cool stuff. The Wanamaker animal collection was fun, though it would have been more fun for my 3 year old nephew than it was for me. The artwork on the second floor was peaceful and reminded me of a miniature Smithsonian Freer Gallery of Art. Only quibble is that the wing that had the Elko history was a little dated in its presentation. But still, this is well worth the visit.
