“Iwas treated well at GDW”

I meet a friend for breakfast at the Gold Dust about 3-4 times a month. The service is always excellent. The food is good and if you get the petite breakfast the price is right. Petite at the GDW is 2 pieces of bacon or sausage, hash browns or potatoes, 2 eggs and toast. It cost under $10 for 2. I'm cheap I admit it it. Give it a try and no I don't own stock.

Out stay at this hotel/casino was very nice, the room were clean and well maintained. Everyone was very helpful and all the accommodation were good. We did feel that the Mexican restaurant bar closed to early for a Friday or Saturday night. We had such a good time in there (closed at 10:am) and the food was good too. It was nice having your breakfast included in the cost of the food and the food was very good to, the selection was good too.

I attended the Women & Motorcycling event. The hotel did a great job of having parking, bike washing for us. The front desk was very helpful getting the room costs split, ordering taxis, etc. The room was comfortable and clean. They were generous with towels. We were hot and miserable the first night, but it was user error - you must slide your card into the master swith by the door in order for the A/C to work. Since I didn't do the initial check in I don't know if the staff failed to inform or instructions weren't understood.

Lobby, restaurants, room was all clean. I would have said the smoke was bad, but after visiting other hotels the Gold Dust West was the least offensive by far.

Con
Not walkable to city center bars and restaurants - though you can walk there then take a taxi back.
Towels smelled of smoke
Could hear everything from room next door in the bathroom. Closing the door alleviated the noise
Hallway noise was persistent as people walked by the door talking. (earplugs)

Pros
Value
Casino was good
Restaurant options on the property
Bike/Walking path to city center
Easy to find and you avoid downtown traffic
Safe plentiful parking
Comfortable rooms, beds, linens, pillows

The hotel was clean and reasonably new and reasonably priced and the rooms are large. The front desk staff, housekeeping and restaurant staff and management all met our expectations or better. Priscella at the desk, Julie at The Grille and managers at both Ole' Ole' and The Grille were all very helpful from providing excellent service for a loud group of 10 that grew to 12, and allowing me to order from The Grille menu at Ole' Ole' to ionizing my room to help remove the smoke coming in via the air ducts.

Other than the smokey area containing the casino and two restaurants and constant smoke in the air all over the building we had a very pleasant visit to Gold Dust.

A very reasonably priced room that had really comfy beds and was very spacious. All the amenities you need, and our room seemed to have been recently updated with granite tops and a large walk-in shower. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Remember this is a casino, and the smell of smoke will waft into the hallways a little. We would certainly go back though.

As this was our last hotel on our little excursion back from Jackson Hole, WY, we were very happy to see that they had a pool big enough for kids and adults to be in at the same time. Food was great, Staff very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. You deffinetly get your moneys worth at the Gold Dust West.
I would highley recommend this hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: Very kid friendly and allows pets. Choose a room downstairs. It's closer to everything.

A family of five stayed one night on our trip through Yosemite. We got a very good accomodation for a modest price. Breakfast was included and offered a variety of hot food served at the table. We forgot an iPad in the hotel room. This was found and reported by the maid. The assistant hotel manager, Jack Sosebee, was very helpful in having it shipped to our home address. Great service from good people.
