We are from Michigan. We eat Chinese food (American version Chinese food) frequently and try different restaurants. One restaurant may have a different vegetable in a dish than another, or may have a specialty dish, but usually, when you order something basic like an egg roll or wonton soup, it's pretty much the same thing at any Chinese restaurant. Bamboo Garden dishes are NOT what you think you are ordering, an egg roll is really a spring roll, no bean sprouts, no little shrimp, nothing I've ever seen in an egg roll in any Chinese restaurant. Won ton soup looks like made with beef broth, with zucchini and carrots! My dad ordered Almond Boneless Chicken, expecting a battered and deep fried boneless chicken breast, sliced, served with lettuce and sauce, sprinkled with slivered almonds and sliced green onions. NOT what was served. Looked like diced chicken breast, with sauce, slices of celery, and zucchini chunks. We asked the waitress what it was, she said "Almond Boneless Chicken". I said we were expecting a battered and deep fried chicken breast, she said "We don't have that". We sent the dish back, advising that it was not what we ordered. Kung Pao chicken full of zucchini and peppers. Fried rice also totally different from anything we've ever had that was called fried rice. Sesame chicken was different, but close to what i expected. Also, thought it was a little high. so, we were not happy.
