What a lovely Museum! The museum gives the history of the Nevada rail system.. which is an interesting read.. and, wow.. the Locomotives and cars located in the main building and backyard are very well preserved. I think we took dozens of pics!

When we toured the Trains in the back rail yard.. the Museum tour guide spoke with such passion for this bit of history that we could feel the love. What a nice gentleman!

I highly recommend visiting this Museum!

This is a small museum but easy to see in an hour and a half or so. The main building has some interesting history of trains and mining. It was interesting enough even for someone who enjoys history but doesn't care a lot about trains. The out building had some excellent docents who explained some of the restored trains and train cars. I can see why this is a highly rated venue. It was worth the cost. The gift shop is a 'must see' for train buffs.

We didn't get to look at the train outside, or take the train ride because it was a rainy/sleety day, but we really enjoyed the museum inside. It may be small, but it's the quality of what is inside the museum that matters. The trains are gorgeous. My son also enjoyed playing with the "Thomas the Train" train tables at the entrance!

The Nevada Museum is managed and operated by people who love trains and the unique history of the work horses that built this amazing country. The working steam engine is a thrill for kids young and old. The Virgina City run is fully funded by this amazing organization.
