“Very good food, very efficient manager”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

We booked here for a graduation lunch and the food was very good. The location and grounds are beautiful too. The waitress who served us was lovely. The only downside was how efficient/bossy the manager seemed. She bossed the staff around and was very keen to turn over business as soon as possible. Overall, however, it was a lovely meal at a very nice pub.

“Was nearly very good”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014 via mobile

We booked. We arrived on time. We waited for over half an hour at the bar with no real explanation for the delay. The young student aged staff did a good job making what was an increasingly out of hand situation feel tolerable but then the head wait person in the form of a barely polite harried person came and told us we should order immediately as others were waiting. So maybe they had more people turn up on a Monday night than they expected but the service was brusque and impolite from this senior person and it spoiled the evening and set a horrible example to the junior staff. Everyone else was courteous and friendly. The food was good but not standout. Possibly the food score is affected by the general atmosphere created but this most unwelcoming person. This place should be an easy 4.5. Needs an attitude adjustment at the top though.

“A restaurant worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2014 via mobile

I've been to The Mole Inn with friends for dinner, with work colleagues for lunch and in the beer garden for a pint and every single time this place was great. I can't comment on the beer selection because by default I drink lager only but the garden is wonderful. There is a strong sense of privacy as the tables are separated by large beds of lovely flowers, rose bushes, or hidden in a kiosk (ideal if the rain starts). The food never disappointed me. Last meal I had there, back in April, was absolutely glorious!
The food is not cheap but it's worth every penny and I absolutely recommend it!
If you go for lunch, you might just about be able to squeeze in but for dinner you'll need to book.

“Lovely location and atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

I went here one lunchtime as part of a group of seven from work. Despite our large party, service was good and the food delicious. The place is special owing to its lovely surroundings and well kept gardens which are great for a summer time drink. Staff were friendly and explained the menu well. Highly recommended.

“Good food in pretty place..”

Worth a trip out here from Oxford. Pleasant walks from pub car park with lovely views to enjoy till pub opens. We were early - kitchen won't take orders before 19:00 - had a drink and leisurely look at the menu. When kitchen was able to accept food orders our server told us she couldn't tell us the specials as she'd been on the bar all day... That aside, the rest of the service was good, as was the food.
