“very good lunch”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

A goup of us visited Ole's for lunch. Food was very good and the restaurant was quite interesting. Stuffed animals on every wall. Some that are now on the endangered list, If you are in the area of Paxton Ne , stop for lunch you will enjoy it.

“Very cool midwest Americana”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

The food was great and service excellent. But the decor is what is really cool. You can only find places like this in the heartland. Lots of trophy animal heads on the walls and signed pictures of movie stars and country musicians who have stopped and eaten there. They even have a stuffed polar bear in a display case right when you come in the door. Gotta say it again, the food was great, the service excellent and the prices are reasonable. Totally worth a stop if you're going through the middle of Nebraska.

“Well worth leaving the interstate for this unique restaurant”
Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

This is a very unique restaurant with over 200 mounted game everywhere. The original owner was a big game hunter for many years with lots of pictures from the 40's to the 60's. There is even a huge stuffed polar bear. The steaks were superb from a local butcher who has Nebraska beef. Service was excellent with a very attentive waitress At first they sat us in the game room/ bar next door which disappointed me. The manager came by and re-seated us in the dining room with the animals stating the hostess had mistaken us for someone else.

“In the middle of somewhere....”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Paxton, Nebraska has a population of maybe 600 people but it has a great restaurant. Stopped by Ole's on the way to somewhere else and had dinner. I was glad that I did. Ordered the prime rib and was not dissappointed in the flavor or the size of the serving. Ole's has a eccentric decor -- kinda african safari meets the wild west. A lot of stuffed big game trophies line the wall and provide a mildly entertaining distraction until your meal arrives. Save room for desert -- they have locally made fruit pies. The service is efficient and done with a warm smile and friendly manner.

“Always worth a visit when in area!”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Ate lunch at Ole' s on 2/19/2013. I ordered the lunch special that day which was a chicken fried steak sandwich and American fries. Sandwich was okay, not great. Service was excellent. Of course the atmosphere is like no other restaurant! The animal mounts and photos are really unique.
