“A quirky Nebraska institution”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2012

Ole went game hunting and returned with animals he had taxidermed for this restaurant! At least 200 mounted specimens are on shelves, walls, hanging from ceilings, etc. A bull moose was suspended over my companion's head! On the wooden bar are antique bar lamps from beer companies.

Go to Ole's for the atmosphere and for the food!

The steaks are large and good. Sides are of good quality. Wait staff are locals. I had the smallest steak - a 12 oz Sirloin - great taste, texture....just too much for me!

There were families, individuals, and groups eating this Friday night. Dress is very casual. (They sell Ole t-shirts)

“Great Atmosphere, Acceptable Food & Service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

We stopped here on our way back from Colorado. In Nebraska, I figured one needs to stop for steak.

The atmosphere was great! Big game indeed. We had fun trying to name all the animals gracing the walls of the establishment. The service was just acceptable--the waitress couldn't tell us about the beer selection and didn't know much about the food. The prime rib was also just acceptable. It was slow-cooked as a complete cut. Tasty, but it seemed there was more potential in the meat.

They do take reservations, and were very friendly.

“Good food, good price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

We were told by friends to stop by Ole's on our way back from Yellowstone because there are SO MUCH big game hanging on the walls. They were right...LOTS of animals (if you can't eat with an elk looking over your shoulder, the place isn't for you!), but also good food at a resonable price. The service was good and I highly recommend the sweet potato casserole (if you like sweet potatoes).

“Ok food. good change of pace.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

Just ok food. good change of pace from fast FOS but obvious they owner is in to max $. Had to ask for lettuce for burgers and ice for water. Interesting about all wild game but got a bit uncomfortable thinking about all endangered animals on wall.
