Owner description: One of Nebraska's leading attractions, the Harold Warp Pioneer Village is a short 10-minute drive south of I-80 exit 279. The Pioneer Village is often described as the "Smithsonian of the Plains". Visitors from around the world use "Fantastic" "A wonderful American Treasure" "Amazing" and "Remarkable" to describe the 50,000 items in 26 buildings within the 20 acre museum. Exhibits are arranged in chronological order of development to vividly portray how America grew from the open hearth and grease lamps to supersonic speed and cell phones. You will find wagons, buggies, guns, trains, 350 antique automobiles, 100 tractors, 20 historic aircraft, Rogers' Statuary, clothing, glass and china, Historic Buildings and more. It is a great family destination and includes a motel and campground. If you stay with us in our motel or campground, we will give you one complementary adult admission to the museum with each room or campsite rented. The museum is open year round.

It's an old collection of incredible artifacts. Harold Warp did an astounding job of gather almost "one of everything." It's an eclectic collection that defies a narrow description. It's old and dusty, but that only adds to the ambience. The fact that it's not easy to get to only adds to the mystique. Expect to spend several hours walking through all the buildings. While you're in Minden do not miss the restored opera house downtown, too!

On a cross country road trip in July, we ventured into Warp's Pioneer Village in Minden, Nebraska. It was not on our itinerary but advertisement along the road drew us there. The whole place is just awesome as the museum is jam packed with history. For example, there are cars, trucks, tractors from every era in America, as well as every conveyance man has ever invented. The museum has complete collections of useful items made in America over many many years. There are restored buildings on the grounds brought in from different parts of the Country such as a school house, church, old depot station, bank, store, settler cabin to name just a few, each authentically furnished.

One of the huge display buildings on the property contained rooms from the American family through each decade in history..... bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, nursery, etc.....totally amazing. Each was shown as it would look at that time period and how new inventions made life more comfortable. After our self guided tour, we enjoyed ice cream right on the property. Merchandise is available for sale in the Gift Shop and Admission cost is reasonable. By the way, there was a real Harold Warp! We would recommend this awe inspiring tribute to a "history through the ages" but wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to devote some time to see it all!

Great stop!!! If you like museums you must make the time to visit this place! 130 years of
American progress - thru the 1950's. It is a bit run down and tired, but oh so very worth the
time to see. Wonderful collection of buildings - from a sod house on. History of the western settlement and also the advance of machines - cars, bikes ,motorcycles, tractors. Household
appliances, furniture and all kinds of collections that people find interesting. Truly a gem!
Allow time to walk thru and enjoy!

This was one of those unexpected gems that my son and I experienced during our cross country trip. Pioneer Village has an incredible collection of everything imaginable. We particulary enjoyed seeing how a living room has progressed over time. We spent 2 1/2 hours here and cold easily have spent more. I liked this better than the American History Museum in Washington D.C.

i visited this musuem about 50 years ago. I was quite young but it made a huge impression on me and my siblings. Talked my husband into going. He was also amazed at the huge collection of everything imaginable. There is something for every interest. They need to charge more so they can update their labeling and put some space in between the autos for instance.
