We had drove all day and part of the night. We found this days in. It looked nice from the outside. Figured why not, I am a Wyndham member. I was not asked if I was a member, the front desk person, mumbled hard to understand. Was given a room on a side street had to park in back not a lot of lighting making for uneasy feeling. The room was clean, it was comfortable. Could hear all the street traffic noise. Was not told when check out was or if a breakfast was even offered.

I made my reservation on short notice, and the staff was very helpful getting me a large discount. My room was actually a large suite which was also a big plus. On the other hand, everything about the place was very run down and neglected. The walkway of the balcony was warped and a few spots felt as if they were about to rot through. The worst, was the karaoke event in the bar below/behind my room. It's hard to imagine management not being able to realize that LOUD, off-key, singing next to a guest's room is not exactly conducive to a restful night's sleep.
On the other other hand, I never heard the traffic.

Room Tip: Specify a room AWAY from the bar, and you should not have a problem.

Upon check in, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. But...this hotel is just too old to dress up. No matter how many times you paint and old timer like this, it's still worn out. The window was small and did not open, resulting in a dreary dimly lit effect. The room was clean, but just the age of everything made it feel grungy. Must have a history of dishonest clientele, as every appliance, down to the alarm clock, had their cords screwed to the fixture, so as to protect against theft. The hotel is a few hundred yards from a railroad yard, a big one, which operated all night long. I got a good night sleep, as the bed was clean and comfortable, but if you are a light sleeper, this hotel will NOT work for you. The price was cheap, but there were no amenities to speak of. No breakfast, although there is a restaurant in the same building that advertised $1 breakfast. In short, a decent place to flop for 8 hours, if you are on a budget, and if night time noises don't bother you, but otherwise perhaps not your best choice.

Room Tip: Well, the street noise in front or the railroad yard in the rear, your choice. Perhaps the "sui...
