“Great Location - New and clean”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

There was quiet a few of us staying there. The staff was super friendly. We all got checked in quickly. The location was close to restaurants and bars. I love the Haymarket area. Really charming. The hotel was clean our rooms were nicely decorated. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel! Best night sleep ever (for a hotel that is). The bathroom was nice but the sink area is a little small for us ladies and all our products. But if that's the only little thing who cares. The one draw back was how expensive the drinks were and food in there lounge area

Room Tip: Our room was on the 6 floor at the every end of the hall way which made it quieter

The hotel is about three months old. I think it will be a good hotel once the kinks are worked out. The a/c clicked all night long. Needless to say we didn't get a great night sleep. I mentioned to the front desk clerk upon checking out. She said yes they had a company there the day before working on this issue and thought it was all taken care of. Boom that was it. Next is the parking. While they have a parking garage across the street it is not convient. The only elevator is on the opposite side the block to the CY entrance. Wish this was explained better. Plus they charge 11.00 for this. As far as location, excellent to the stadium and Hay Market. Can't beat that.

We stayed overnight on our way to Colorado and the hotel was only 3 weeks old. The room was spacious and had a small couch in it and an armoire. The bed was very comfortable which I was concerned about since the hotel was so new. New hotels usually equate to hard beds. The small refrigerator was a nice touch. The bathroom had ample counter space with a privacy wall for the toilet. The shower was very large (no tub) with a foot rest and grab bar but the controls were on the side and I kept bumping into it and shuttling off the water. The lobby was beautiful, very modern, and there was outdoor space with couches and a fire pit. We had breakfast in the Bistro and the food was good as was the service. I do need to say the hotel was not very crowded and I think there was only a handful of folks staying (it was Thanksgiving night). I do not know how it would be with a crowd. The down side is the parking. There is a parking garage across the street which you will be charged for. Since it was not crowded, we parked on the street and were gone by 8am. The location was great, Haymarket area, so there are other restaurants and some nightlife. If we traveled through Lincoln again, we would definitely stay there.

I can't say enough about this hotel and its amazing staff!!! I went for a Nebraska football game as an out of town fan (GO PENN STATE). We stayed within weeks of the hotel opening and you would never know! The staff was polished, professional and very competent!!! Everyone was really accommodating with directions, restaurant recommendations and just going the extra mile to make sure our stay was the best ever! The manager John treated us like we were old friends and made us feel right at home, really going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed. We even got an upgrade in room (hot tub in the room!!!), even though we were from the opposing team. Parking was easy, right across from the hotel. Even upon check out we received an easy way to get out of the garage- they have figured everything out here!

And let's talk location. It really couldn't get any better. You're right in Haymarket area with all the best restaurants and shops. And you're basically on Nebraskas campus!! So whether you are in town for a school event, business or pleasure, you will find everything you need in this area of town and at this hotel!!

If you go when the weather is somewhat nice, there is an outdoor lounge area with a fire pit which is great to enjoy after a long day of running around. The gym has all high-end equipment with headphones you can use to watch you individual tvs.The pool is gorgeous and handicap accessible. There are even laundry facilities if you want to do a quick load while you're there! There's happy hour at the bar area and a huge lobby where there are always people hanging out and chit chatting. Everyone in Lincoln is so nice, you're sure to make new friends!

The room was impeccable- clean, easy on the eyes, modern but comfortable and homey. The furniture is sleek and the best part- theres a REAL blow dryer in the bathroom. One with a plug that you can take anywhere in the room to blowdry your hair! Sounds silly, I know, but I love that attention to detail, and women will love that. :) Oh and the in-room service is tasty, hot and timed perfectly. ;)

Overall, I think you're crazy to stay anywhere else!!! This courtyard is amazing value for your money, has excellent attention to detail, and was designed and staffed to make customers comfortable and feel very cared-for.

Room Tip: don't think you can go wrong with any room!

Stayed at the Courtyard Lincoln Downtown by the Haymarket (or rather therein). It was a good choice for us over Thanksgiving weekend! Haymarket is a fun location and I am afraid that it will only get more popular with the upcoming basketball arena. I hope the area does not lose its charm. But back to Courtyard, I do like Courtyards in general. All Courtyard Marriotts do not serve breakfast. That is a given. You can buy your breakfast there though. This Courtyard is very clean, has a comfortable beds and an awesome desk area (and fridge). We only had a shower and not a bath. Our room was on the corner (two queens) and had two sets of windows which I enjoyed. I found the staff very helpful indeed (except on Thanksgiving, the maid forgot to replace the coffee packets/cups but this was quickly remedied (also free coffee downstairs in the morning). One thing is the parking of which they are still working out the snaggles. Parking is a premium in the Haymarket area (usually metered unless on Sunday or certain holiday or after 6 p.m. or so) and so there is a parking ramp area designated for the Courtyard. It is 9 dollars a day if you pay the parking area straight, or 11 dollars (no matter how many times you come and go) per day if you pay through the hotel. There was no parking person on staff at the time (holiday?), so I paid via my credit card and not via the hotel. Marriott Courtyard personal indicated that they are working on getting a card you can get at the hotel during your stay for parking, but that was not in order yet as of my stay. So parking would be the primary issue in my book with this hotel (and there is a new Hilton Garden Inn being constructed across the street, so one can only imagine parking will not become easier). Alas, I truly enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Marriott and am so happy to have it as a new option! Note the Bread and Cup around the corner is a great lunch spot! Natural food from the area. Many other good dining options (and coffee house and fun shops (including a great book store)) in the area as well.

Thank you for the great comments about our new property. I truly appreciate the feedback. You are correct with our issues on the parking garage. Everything should be taken care of this week, and guests should be able to utilize their room keys going forward, without all of the hassle. We look forward to having you as a guest again soon. Thanks!

This is a brand new Courtyard in Lincoln and since the Cornhusker left the Marriott chain this is a great option. First the hotel is brand new so everything is super clean and fresh. The hotel has an outdoor fire pit(gas) with comfortable chairs around it out front which I think is really nice. The hotel has the new Courtyard lobby and restaurant. Staff was great, parking is across the street in the garage for a charge. Room was perfect and was upgraded to a suite. Highly recommended!

It's very difficult to find a hotel room in Lincoln, Nebraska on a Husker football game weekend. I was very surprised to find not only a room but a new name in the usual line-up of hotels. This property has been open three or four weeks on the north edge of the popular downtown Haymarket area. It's two or three blocks to the University of Nebraska campus and Memorial Stadium, plus right in the restaurant and bar scene in the Haymarket. Excellent location!

We got a king bedroom and the rooms are very nice. Very comfortable bed and nice linens, attractive wall coverings, large HDTV and a mini-fridge in the spacious room. Nice-sized desk with a comfortable desk chair with free wi-fi. Granite countertop in the bath plus a very nice shower.

There is a pretty good-sized fitness room in the basement level: Three treadmills, two ellipticals and a stationary bike plus a stack of free weight barbells make it an excellent place to get a good workout. The machines have TVs and iPod hook-ups to help while away those miles. There is also a small indoor pool which I didn't try.

The lobby is big, open and attractive. There is even a nice outdoor sitting area just outside the lobby with overstuffed outdoor furniture and a fire pit. Overall, the property is new and handsome, and the entire staff is friendly, welcoming and anxious to answer any question about the hotel or surrounding area. While the area immediately around the hotel is still a work in progress with a new hotel under construction right across the street and hte new basketball arena being built a block or so way, in another few months this looks to be THE place to stay in Lincoln. You can't really beat great location, new and excellent property and a very able and helpful staff.
