We visit the Sunken Gardens whenever we're in or passing through Lincoln, NE. The garden is different every year. The waterfall and pools filled with koi and lily pads are gorgeous. This year in mid June, the lily pads were in bloom with brilliant pink, yellow, and white flowers. It's also small in size, so one doesn't need much time to experience all of it. My husband, daughter, and grandson spent about a half hour there this year. When a 14 year old is impressed, you know it's worth it. I also liked reading some of the donated bricks, which make up the paths. There are also places to sit and just absorb the beauty and peacefulness of the gardens.. Across the street is a rose garden and a waterfall sculpture dedicated to teachers.

Sunken gardens is a wonderful floral display area. It changes through the year going through various phase. Many people don't know that it is built on the site of a former landfill. The flowers the steps, the poo completely complement each other. Well worth the trip.

Walked through the gardens while we were in town for a university visit. They were so pretty! A large variety of flowers, ponds, fountains and a waterfall, and paths. Plenty of places to sit and take it all in. I've been to Lincoln many times and have never seen this before, glad I saw it on TA! It was neat to read the history of how it came about and see some old pictures from when it was first built.

One of most informative places I have been....chock full of the beautiful flowers gardens and Roses. The trees and landscaping were pristine and we enjoyed every minute we were there. VERY hot bring sun umbrella but also nice shade from the trees. Do not pass this by!

This is one those hidden treasures that one finds. It is situated in the middle of a city, with buildings rising above it and traffic whizzing all around. It is simply gorgeous! We looked at it for a possible venue for my daughter's wedding, but decided not to have the wedding there. Certainly that decision was not a reflection on the Sunken Gardens, only the logistics of an outdoor venue. We were there in the spring, and were privileged to meet several of the gardeners. They do a great job of maintaining the garden. It is a must-see when in Lincoln, Nebraska!
