“Gem of a park”

This relatively small park is an urban gem. With fish ponds, interesting plantings of annuals that bloom throughout the growing season amid perennial shrubs and trees, this is a peaceful spot to stroll, relax and simply enjoy the beauty. It may be among Lincoln's smallest parks but it's a treasure.

Lincoln's Sunken Garden's is a little piece of beauty and heaven. The grounds are tended by volunteers who do an excellent job. It's fun to take a leisurely stroll through the gardens when it is in full bloom. There are also water features and a fabulous metal scultured pergola which in itself is a sight to behold.

Parking is difficult, but worth the poking about to find the lot. Arrive from the northwest, through neighborhood streets. A great place to take young and old and spend 15 minutes to an hour.

In the spring this place is beautiful with all the newly planted flowers. It's a nice place to just stroll around or sit and enjoy the beauty of it all. It is a small garden but just an awesome place to visit.

The Sunken Gardens are lovely, even when there are few plants. Be sure to walk to the west end to see the gazeebo roof with the seasons in cast iron - - so lovely. Parking is bad. Park at the zoo, use the pedestrian cross walk and walk across 27th street. Besides, then you can go to the zoo too. This garden is lovingly cared for by Lincolnites and it really shows.
