Located in the historic part of Lincoln in a former Seed wholesale building, this place has charm and whimsy. Wood floors, exposed brick and quirky art donated by patrons (like the Barbie collection) leave all the plastic hubris to the chain coffeeshops. The old train dock lets you people-watch above the cobblestones and is THE place during Husker Games and Farmers' Market. The baristas make an excellent variety of espresso drinks. The granita is a popular fav in the summer - like a coffee slushie. The Mill offers a wonderful variety of exotic loose-leaf selections, and like the hand-roasted beans, can be taken home for your personal stash. Try some of the locally-baked gourmet goods to go with your beverage or pick up some coffee and tea equipment the next time you're stuck for that perfect gift. Better yet, buy a French Press for yourself.
If you like the downtown Mill, you might also like their Prescott outpost on 48th street, also in a funky building with all the same charm and goods!
