My husband and I recently had our Wedding (Ceremony and Reception) at Stoneridge and we could not have been more pleased. We chose this property and arranged it all via email correspondence having never sighted the place in person prior to the rehearsal it turned out absolutely fantastic!

All our guests commented on the great location, fabulous Chapel, amazing reception venue and fantastic food!

Small things we wanted to put in place after the rehearsal in preparation for the day were easily completed. Updates on small requirements unforeseen on the day as well were also easy to add in and the the staff were lovely.

Diego, Wayne and Suzanne are an absolute pleasure to deal with both in arrangements in the lead up to and on the day.

Every ran very smoothly and we would thoroughly recommend Stoneridge Estate to anyone even if you have never seen this place in person first-you can trust you have booked somewhere amazing!

My wife and I recently married at the Stoneridge Chapel with our reception following at their exceptional venue. We also spent two nights at their luxury accommodation. I am unable to fault Stoneridge on any detail - the location / scenery speaks for itself but what really blew us away was the service of all staff involved. Nothing was too much trouble for them to organise and they were able to cater for each and every little thing we wanted to make our day as special as we had hoped. Our guests were amazed at what the venue had to offer and it was not difficult to see how much they enjoyed the wedding. One of the biggest compliments needs to go to the food / meals prepared. The range of menu choices is unbelievable and what they were able to deliver was nothing but exceptional quality. This is definitely a venue not to be missed! Thank-you Stoneridge!

My sister & myself called in to Stoneridge & directed by the roadside handsome armoured gothic 'knight', we weaved our way through spectacularly landscaped gardens with old stone walls, vineyards, rock pools & bridges where we found the Gallery, wine tasting counter & newly opened cafe.
We were fortunate to meet resident artist, Da'Vella Gore who kindly showed us right through this truely unique 'home' which we discoverd, she had constructed herself together with her young son Wayne & many tradesman, (often exchanging work for her original paintings!). Listening to her personal commentary, I needed to know more, so bought the 3 'Blessed' book series Da'Vella had written & kindly autographed for us: "How not to build a house" "How not to run farm" & "How not to plant a vineyard", if you ever have a chance, they are an entertaining great read!
Then we met Wayne who drove us up further to see the Wedding Chapel, Reception room/s & exclusive guest accomodation & also where Da'Vella now lives ~ all with spectacular views sweeping across the whole property & beautiful Lake Hayes.
We found it all so fascinating with the buildings semi-Gothic & early colonial, mostly formed by old churches' arches, trusses, altar rails, dormer windows & wooden staircases.
This was an absolute highlight of our Central Otago meanderings, & simply NOT TO BE MISSED!

My wife and i, plus our families stayed at this amazing place for several days prior/during our wedding. The service from all the staff was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Our guests couldnt stop raving about the food, even the 2 chefs we had in our wedding party couldn't fault any of the dishes. We could not belive the architecture and uniqueness of the surrounds- you have truly a beautiful place in paradise! Thank you so much for all the assistance with the planning and making our day so memerable. We will definitely be back for our aniversary.

I attended a wedding recently at Stoneridge. The view was stunning and no doubt the bride had the day she had wanted. I found it diasppointing though that my friend and I had to go and clean the honeymoon suite up at 10pm during the wedding as the staff had not turned the room down between us getting ready for the wedding at 3pm and the bride and groom returning to the suite at 12am. I would have expected this service given expense of the suite and given the expense of the wedding.

During the afternoon the MC had asked for the microphone they were informed that it would cost an extra $75 and that the bride and groom had not booked this. Perhaps management could have overlooked such a small expense on the day rather than causing added stress for the MC who then had to check this was ok with the couple.
When spending tens of thousands on a venue I would expect some basics to be just thrown in on the day if required.

It was a fantastic wedding and a great night for all, however I was not impressed by the lack of lighting from the reception to the honeymoon suite as my friend and I attempted to find it in the pitch black so we could do what the staff should have been doing. The food was lovely however limited and there certainly were not enough pre dinner nibbles to go around. The wait staff were ok but not willing to go above and beyond.

We thank the reviewer for their feedback, and we are glad to hear that the bride had the day she wanted.

The servicing of lodge rooms with wedding guests is often difficult. We always try to be accommodating but also try not to infringe on guests’ privacy while they are in preparations for the ceremony/wedding, given the rooms are often required through to the ceremony start time (4pm).

We now ask at breakfast what time the guests would like their rooms serviced but normally offer to do so during the ceremony time. Many of our guests actually require that the rooms are not serviced as they prefer not to have staff attending on them during their occupation of the room.

Whilst we believe the cottage was serviced once if not twice that day with the clearing of bridesmaids’ beds and lunch, we have now made it policy that the cottage is rechecked a third time before the bride and groom retire to the room for the evening.

Costs such as microphones, AV equipment, theming, etc. are carefully identified as additional to the venue fee and are in the venue contract and would be well known to the paying client. We fully appreciate that from an outsider’s point of view that some of these costs might be perceived as included with the cost of the venue. But like any venue if we are not transparent and do not identify the extras, this will result in disappointment of both the client and ourselves.

Thanks again for your input, and we are glad that everyone enjoyed the wedding.
