“Good location at Sea of Galilee”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

Spacious room with kitchenette, but with less than average facilities. Good location, facing Sea of Galilee.

We stayed in Maagan Holiday Village for the second part of our Israel Tour with Day One Ministries for 4 nights 25th Oct - 29th on half board basis. Location is stunning right on the shores of Galilee (someone commented from our tour on arrival that it is Israels answer to Centre Parcs!) Food at meal times was adequate, dining room a little cramped (buffet service for both breakfast and dinner). The whole complex was immaculate. Our room very trendy with lots of space and wonderful views from our balcony looking over the sea of Galilee. The weather was wonderful so many of the people on our tour made use of the outdoor swimming pool or swam in Galilee. The small shop was very useful for buying tea bags, coffee etc. Great location for visiting Capernaum, Korazim, Golan Heights, Nazareth, Megiddo, Caesarea etc.

Location is fantastic, just at the edge of the Galilee! We could sit at the edge to enjoy the beautiful lake and watch the boats go by and picture the disciples of Jesus fishing on their boats. This place is suitable for families as the grounds are spacious for jogs, walks and picnics. A very relaxing place to have a getaway. Food is not exactly "cordon bleu" but enough to satisfy a hungry stomach. Rooms are clean and ground floor rooms where I stayed have a balcony to dry our clothes and chairs to sit around. Rooms come with a very comfortable sofa. They also have a small convenience store for essential supplies.

We enjoyed our few days here but our unit was a bit squishy for 4 (1 bedroom plus sofa beds in lounge for kids). Buffet breakfast was good but dinner was difficult as there are no cooking facilities in units except microwave and not even any plates, only a kettle and cups. We had a nice dinner there 1 night but if they have a big group staying they can't fit you in so we had to go down the road (5 minutes by car) to an open air plaza to eat the other nights. You really need to speak some Hebrew to eat at the plaza. Otherwise it is a 20 minute drive to Tiberias, where there are lots of restaurants.

The location is gorgeous though, right on the lake and the pool is very nice (with a lifeguard). The staff are helpful and friendly and there is a comfortable bar and laundry facilities (reasonably priced.)

A nice place. Very good pool and a nice beach on the lake. Rooms quite comfortable and clean. Grounds well maintained. Breakfast and lunch buffet excellent. One day our a/c stopped working and someone was over in 5 minutes to fix it. But, very expensive. Not sure it's worth the money.

The hotel is great for families with two rooms in each "room" with a small kitchen area. I think we could have slept 6 in our room. Only down side was there was never a life guard at the sea of Galilee beach so we couldn't swim down there...

We stayed for a weekend a family of 15 people in 3 family rooms and 2 double rooms. The rooms are well kept, clean and comfortable. The pool was enjoyable for all of us, young and old. The beach is close, one can float there cause its very shallow.
We had BBQ facilities next to the room which we used. We had a grat time. We met the pickocs but they didnt bother us. The staff was very helpfull. Breakfast was very good.
