Visited with a group of walkers, we ordered before setting off.
On return, in spite of the pub being very busy, the service was excellent and the meals arrived promptly. The menu is varied and the food was superb.

Each and every time we have a very relaxed and enjoyable time at this pretty, little country pub. We are are made to feel welcome, today we sat outside in the beautiful garden/patio area with our dogs with water bowls upon arrival after a good walk around nearby... plenty of good walks!! Comfy chairs and tables outside and inside full of charm. Food and drink perfect! Cannot recommend enough! A true hidden gem!

We passed this pub on a soggy Tuesday morning walk starting in Newnham and were taken with its exterior look. Once the walk was over, we returned to Eastling at just after 12 and got the last table, it's that popular! The staff were very welcoming and the menu included pub-style standards, a full meal menu as well as a board of daily specials. We opted for just a main course from the specials board each and a shared desert. Every item was delicious, with special mention for the thyme sauce served with the duck breast. The duck breast was less pink than I would have preferred, but the taste and tenderness was faultless. We would go again, but we might book in advance next time.

Called in here with some extended family for dinner one night. The meals were excellent and far beyond what one might normally expect at a village pub. There's a reasonable selection on the menu, the presentatiuon and combination of flavours was very good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely a cut above the usual pub food.
