Having read some negative reviews I was a bit apprehensive but there was no need. Our room was clean, spacious with lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Very good atmosphere in the bar/ dining area. We enjoyed both dinner on the Saturday evening and breakfast the following morning.
Ben, our friendly border terrier, also enjoyed his stay as the staff were very dog friendly!
Would certainly stay here again.

We have visited the Bears paw on several occasions and have always been extremely satisifed However tonights visit was terrible. It was my son's 30th birthday and was hoping for a lovely family meal. We booked the table for 6pm and when we arrived at 5.45pm the pub was quite empty. The service was so slow, there was no continuity with the waiting on staff who were all very young and there didn't seem to be a Maitre D in overall charge. The service was very slapdash, we had to ask for additional cutlery and sauces. When the food arrived it was good although my roast beef dinner was not served piping hot and the yorkshire pudding was very soggy. The presentation of the desserts were not to the usual high standard. It took us 2 hours 15 mins for our meal,as we left the pub was full, so goodness knows how long these people waited!! Come on please get the finer details right to make the Bears Paw stand out from the other pubs in the area, because the meals and drinks are not cheap!!

Absolutely incredible! We came here last year as an overnight stay on our way to the lakes and loved every minute. We came back this year and it is even better. The rooms are so clean, modern and comfortable; the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly; and the food....... It doesn't get much better than this. Matt recommends the volcanic stone steak and I can vouch for the veggie options. This is an absolute must if you are looking to stay in the area.

Room Tip: Year 1: four poster - AMAZING Year 2: executive suit - HUGE (sofa etc)

Tucked away in rural Cheshire The Bears Paw is a real find and well worth driving out to. We had lunch here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was faultless, the place itself is lovely, and the dining areas light and airy.
The food itself is to a very high standard, even if a tad expensive. That said the rabbit leg wrapped in Parma ham (£6:75) was full of meat with a delicious flavour. At £12:50 for a lamb mint burger it may sound expensive but it was thick and juicy, served with crispy onion rings with a batter that melted in the mouth and chunky chips. My wife had chicken breast with chorizo which she described as excellent.

We stayed one night on Saturday and had a lovely time. Room was excellent, although no air con, it did have a very effective fan in the room. Beds very comfy and good linen. Bar and restaurant great and dinner was very high standard and well priced as were the drinks. Staff extremely polite and helpful. One small niggle was that the breakfast, although cooked to order was not of the standard of the food and service in the evening. Staff were slow and much more interested in talking to each other than serving and the bacon and sausage looked as if they had never seen a grill pan, although cooked, they looked broiled and were very unappetising, which was disappointing.

Room Tip: Ask for well cooked bacon and sausage for breakfast

Excellent find handy for our visit to Tatton Park. Only downside not really anywhere for a stroll out after our meal. Food and service excellent. Very impressive standard room. Enjoyable stay with very good food and extensive menu of wines and beers.

Room Tip: we were at the side of hotel where smokers come out from restaurant so maybe not ideal in hot weathe...

I am lucky enough to live a 20 minute drive from this fabulous place . The interior of the place is beautiful and the outside seating area truly relaxing . The food is to die for - the best onion rings I have ever tasted !! I'm looking forward to an overnight stay to round the whole experience off. I cannot recommend this hidden gem highly enough
