“Improvements to be made”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

My husband and I took our kids and some friends to Cherrabah. We had met people there 16 years ago and have kept this friendship ever since. Unfortunately not much had changed over 16 years. The rooms were extremely dated (toilets leaking, cracked tiles) and not very clean except the linen and towels which were very crisp.
The food was lovely however we would have preferred not to choose at breakfast what we wanted for lunch and at lunchtime what we wanted to have for dinner.
Horse riding was a great experience for the children and the horses seemed well cared for. Attempts had obviously been made to paint the tennis courts and make them playable, however we needed to pull out a number of waist high weeds before we could begin our games.
Overall we had a fun weekend however will not return until improvements have been made.

We had our wedding at Cherrabah and it was brilliant, everything was so relaxing and peaceful. Jo did a wonderful job organising the event, and put extra effort into the beautiful decorations for us. Anita was brilliant with the horses and setting up the wedding location and Mr Hom was a superstar with the quad bikes and sound system - both just all-round fantastic people. They all contributed to make our wedding a wonderful memory. The accommodation is a little outdated, but clean and tidy. The food was delicious, and they catered for different dietry requirements with ease.

The experience was so great some of our guests went back there recently. Unfortunately, just after our wedding a new manager started - who does not appear to have a full understanding of organisation, customer service and consistency with company policy. Pity to hear their experience was tarnished, such a lovely venue - hope you guys get back on track. My rating, which would have been overall positive, is lower based on the recent experience from my friends.

Room Tip: Hot water systems take a little while (about 30 min - 1 hr) to kick in within some of the rooms, bit...

What a fantastic place for couples or family. We were on first name basis with the staff & they make you feel so welcome & like you have been friends with them forever. The homemade food is absolutely beautiful, big country portions and so well priced. So much to do, quad bike riding, horse riding, swimming, fishing, paddle boats, tennis, tractor train rides. You can literally sit on your verandah and see kangaroos hop past. It was the most relaxing weekend we had had in ages and I would recommend it to anybody.

We visited Cherrabah for my friends wedding this weekend. Yes the rooms are dated, Yes there is limited staff and Yes some of the activities such as golf aren't in operation However, my husband and I had a great time. The views from the Homestead are amazing and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Jo took charge and organized the wedding activities with courtesy and professionalism. The lady at who manned the bar the night of the wedding was also polite, friendly and couldn't have been more accommodating. Anita who looks after the horses is brilliant and allowed myself to stay behind after the trail ride and help with the horses which I love to do. A couple of the quad bikes broke down but Hom ensured he got them going again quickly and made sure all the guys got their time out riding, he even joined us for a game of pool later in the evening.
The meals were all wholesome, not too fancy but just like you would cook at home, which was great, very filling.
In other words....don't be too precious, treat the staff like you would like to be treated yourself, make the most of it and you will have a great time. Remember the staff are trying to make improvements and are doing the best job they can!!

We really enjoyed our overnight stay using a voucher deal. The cabin (attached in lines of multiple) was quiet, warm and perfectly clean. We didn't care about the bad TV reception as we preferred the peace and to sit beside the fireplace near reception. The set-top box had USB inputs so take a FAT32 formatted drive/stick if you're desperate for TV. The horse riding was very long and loved the staff there! We were given about 45 mins to go bush walking to Balancing Rock - spectacular views. The Cherrabah staff were lovely. I chatted with them and noted they feel quite hurt about some of the comments given on TripAdvisor. They have good explanations and it's a shame they can't give their side of the story (they said the site charges an unreasonably hefty fee - I haven't looked into it, but that doesn't sound fair). We really enjoyed our stay, so thank you. The highlights were the horse-riding, views, fireplace and vintage carts.

Wow what an awesome place to go to just relax and enjoy our beautiful country. Recently my work Centacare came to Cherrabah for Team Building and some much needed R&R, we all had so much fun, the facilities are just great, the staff are very helpful and just wonderful people, the evening bonfire is a must. Unfortunately the spas were in repair but would have been a lovely way to end a day. There are ample activities to keep you occupied, we all enjoyed a few hours on the lake with the canoes and paddle boats, next visit we will go horse riding on the wonderful trails. An AAAAA++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ stay, we will be back !!!!!!!!! Many thanks to all the staff at Cherrabah, Sue room 28

Agree with most, spectacular views etc, however I question that some of the reviews are from people that didnt visit. Not once did I see any cows or horses anywhere near the accomodation so I have no idea how some can say they had horse and cow manure near the accomodation, Quad bikes mysteriously all working just after another review says they wernt etc etc.
