Ate here on a Monday night after reading reviews on TA. Ordered the small filet with hash browns and salad. The salad was very good, fresh lettuce, lots of dressing, and crisp crackers. The filet was terrible. While it was cooked correctly, it had very poor taste and texture. For sure it was not fresh cut. Another review mentioned this, and I should have listened. The hash browns and spaghetti were very good, and service was fine. Just a bad tasting steak. Don't order the filet. The Shiraz was good too.

We visited here while our grandson was doing an internship. This was a wonderful place to eat. Lots of atmosphere and good wait staff.

Went on an anniversary date to Husker Steak House and it was fantastic! I had the ordered the pork chops and my date had the chicken fried steak. Both meals came with a salad of choice and 1-2 appetizers! Definitely worth the money too, very fairly priced.

Weather in the bar or in the dinning room the ambiance is an invitation to fine dinning and the friendly service and good food does not disappoint. Seasonal specials of Roast Duck Sauerkraut and Dumplings is like an oasis in the dessert.

Steak House is part of the name and their steaks and prime rib are tops. A Nebr tradition of spaghetti on the side adds to this restraints authenticity. There is never a stranger in the bar.

And that's saying something when one considers that Omaha for decades has been considered the top steak house city. But this small town (@ 25,000) establishment has a tradition that reaches back to the 1940s. The town itself (Columbus) had a reputation for three of the finest steak houses for three decades after WWII when salesmen traveling between Omaha and Denver made it their favorite overnight stop. Passed through half a dozen ownerships, The Husker House has kept its tradition of finest USDA Choice steaks, a top flight kitchen staff, excellent wait staff and service overall. It's the most popular eatery for 50 miles around. Reservations are advised on weekends. Whenever I'm in the area, I dine one night with friends or relatives at the Husker House.
