If you are a collector or interested in guns, trapping or anything from that time this is the place for you! The curator has done an amazing job at some great displays. There is something for everyone here and well worth the admission fee!

A great collection of artifacts and very friendly, helpful staff. I find this part of American history fascinating, and the displays do a nice job of weaving everything together.

Interesting museum. The exhibits would be better if they could make the placards readable. Some were so dark, we couldn't read them. Nice collection of guns and textiles. Worth driving out of the way to see.

There were lots of interesting displays at this museum, and there was a nice area outside with some displays and examples of buildings from the past. My favorite part was the short film that we watched when we first arrived. My children liked the film, and a few exhibits, but were soon bored. The did like the outside exhibits. I would like more information about some of the exhibits... there was lots on display, but not as much explanation about who used it, or when, or what made it a special piece for display. Lots of guns on exhibit.

We were in Chadron for one night, and knew we wanted to hit one touristy thing while there. We had been told the Museum of the Fur Trade was worth the visit. My husband and I were definitely pleased we did stop. The 10 minute or so video explaining the history of the fur trade was quite good. And, we enjoyed all of the displays that had items not just from the area, but all over. We will be recommending this stop to anyone who is going through the area.
