“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

After a long day of Junk Jaunting, we were tired and were more than ready for our room. We had booked our room a year in advance because this is THE best place to stay! Clean, clean, clean and historic charm all wrapped up together! We want to say kudos to the manager, Amber as we were waiting behind some women who had mixed up their reservation and were downright rude to her upon trying to check in because she could not find any record of their reservation. Not only did she keep her poise and friendliness, she also called the other motels in town and found where they had reserved a room at the wrong motel! She continued to be professional even after they were beyond rude that they had made a mistake! Anyway after our check in, we went upstairs to our suite, full living room & kitchen & bedroom, cleaned up and went back downstairs to the restaurant for dinner. MMMMMGoood! The prime rib melts in your mouth and the creme brulee was to die for! The staff was very competent for as busy as they were and went out of their way to cater to our every desire! Good job!

I like to try to find hotels on our trips that are not "chains" and this one was great. The room was clean and large with a separate living room and kitchen. We didn't need that much space, but it was nice. We were on the road side of the hotel and it was a little noisy, so if you are a light sleeper you might ask for a room away from the street, however, it wasn't a problem for me. We ate in the bar and grill (which has the same menu as the restaurant) and enjoyed it. GOOD FOOD! Josh and the rest of the staff were very nice and helpful.

We picked the Arrow Hotel because it was a historic hotel. It seems they are trying to be "upper class" as there is a nice restaurant and a beauty salon on the premises. And the place looks wonderful. The rooms, however, are a bit strange. We were given a room with a separate bedroom and living room with kitchen because I needed 2 beds. Although there were not many rooms occupied in the hotel, we were assigned one along busy route 2 right at the intersection with a red light. All night long, trucks rumbled and clanked by, and motorcycles roared. And the road noise started up again before 6 am. Even though the building was solid brick, the windows were cheap and did nothing to block out the sound, it actualIy sounded like they were open! I got very little sleep. Perhaps rooms in the rear were more quiet, so why did they give us this noisy one? There was a notebook entitled "Hotel Information", but the only information about the hotel was that smoking in the room would incur a $300 fine and a restaurant menu. When we checked out, the attendant was very impersonal; the cleaners were standing at the front desk and seemed interested only that we were gone and they could clean the room. We had a full day's driving to do and were exhaused already in the morning. I was glad to leave the place and will not stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room or bring your earplugs.

This historic hotel has huge suites for a bargain price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar were excellent. It was a pleasant surprise to find this in a small town in Nebraska.

Expected the rates to be much higher!! Our room had a little efficiency kitchen, a sofa, a recliner and a rocking chair. Our bedroom was a separate room, too. Enjoyed learning about the history of the place, too. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It was worth not having a pool.
Had drinks at the pub and dinner at the restaurant and then enjoyed a walk around the town square.
This place is worth planning your trip so that you can stay here!!
Oh, and take a little time at the welcome center down the street, too!

My husband and I discovered this hotel on our "back road" trip to Yellowstone. It is an old railroad town hotel that has been completely updated. The rooms are huge, most are more like studio apartments, complete with small kitchens. We returned in the fall with 2 additional couples for a "football" game party, for which we had the Presidential Suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 complete baths and a large living room with a flat screen TV and "electric fireplace". The restaurant is also a surprise with very good food and service. Great Nebraska raised steaks. The wine list is limited to two choices, but good choices. This is definately a great value and a great place to experience small town Nebraska in the comfort of a top notch lodging.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter as the coal trains pass through town night and day.
