Driftwood Inn is a "country mile" north of Blair, Nebraska. It's about a 30 minute drive north of Omaha, Nebraska. The place is down a long gravel road and looks like it is surrounded by farm buildings. The walls inside are plywood with some varnish, so its not going to be where you go for upscale. This is a down home, farmer's Saturday night go-out-to-dinner place. Grab your jeans and seed corn hat and you'll fit right in. The deck out by the river is for drinks-only. Our table inside had a great view of the river. After you are seated, the nicest wait staff gets your order taken quickly, with salads and drinks out in no time. They are known for their filet. I order the large filet and my wife had the smaller one. They were done to perfection and almost melted on the fork because they were so tender. Our waitress kept the drinks filled, checked in on us and made us feel very welcome. Two huge filets, bread, salads and iced tea were $50. After dinner, we were able to sit out on the deck and watch the river and boaters go by. Too many places in Nebraska want to make you feel like you are in some big city. The Driftwood Inn makes your feel like you are in the best of Nebraska.
