Hi Patrice, you as owner welcomed us in your social and family life. Thank you. You offered us a clean nice room with an beautiful floor (handmade by yourself) and a nice outdoor place in the garden. For us the perfect place to explore the Ashanti region. Your food, your dedication and the hospitality for our chauffeur were exceptionable. We wish you all the best and highly recommend Moon and Star Guesthouse. Lots of love Johan and Marion.

We stayed here two nights with a group of seven women, taking up the family room (two dbls) and one single room where the owner, Pat, added an extra mattress. Nets were provided with the beds and the adjoining bathroom was nice and clean. The compound is really lovely with a nice patio where you can eat/lounge and enjoy the drinks and snacks provided. We chose the full-board option and really enjoyed the home-cooked meals and yummy breakfast (banana pancakes!). Pat also organized a Fufu (traditional Ghanaian dish) cooking class for us at a local woman's home- a wonderful experience!
From there we did tours of Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary (wonderful!) and Prayer Mountain.
It was a great experience as all the staff is super helpful and accommodating and the prices are very fair.
I would also recommend it for anyone who wants some peace and quiet as it's the perfect place to wind down and enjoy a book, games, conversation...(no WiFi, little mobile reception).

Travel means different things to different people. Once, while discussing my travels in Romania (71 countries and counting) my host told me that I was no longer a tourist but a traveler. I couldnt agree more. Moon & Star guesthouse sits near the village of Bankoman, in the Ashanti region. About 4-5 miles or so from the town of Effiduase. There is not much to do around the immediate village area, but wander around and explore the village and talk to people and just relax. And YES, you can really relax here in the deafening quiteness of the night and fresh morning air. After spending one night you might think about writing a book. The guesthouse is very basic run by a Dutch lady and her musician Ghanian husband. Its cleans, well managed and guests are looked after. But remember its in a village with only basic amenities and frequent power outages. I just changed my timing and slept early and got up early. The village people are welcoming and the overly friendly guesthouse dog will walk with you uninvited to the village, never straying away more than a few feet. Patricia the host was a great host and helpful with planning your day. I plan to stay there again (and maybe write a book). Prices are very competitive

A lovely guesthouse with stunning surroundings, charming rooms, and a very friendly and helpful staff. Patricia and Anokye showed me around the village Banko and offered me a glimpse of the Ghanaian way of life. They were always available if I needed anything or had any questions. I especlally enjoyed the conversations about Ghanaian culture, and the workshop traditional cooking.
