Nice place to visit with dogs on a hot day. There is a cordoned off dog section. Spectacular views! Very popular in the summer.

Got to our assigned site and the previous people had brushed out their dog but not cleaned up the hair. We had long white hair everywhere...kept tracking it in the trailer. We finally just raked it up ourselves

The noise from the trains was terrible! Our campsite was close to the lake but weirdly situated close to the one next to us. The train was right behind/above us so my littles were scared of the noise the first few times it passed. Thankfully the trains were short but 3-4 times a night was too much. Wouldn't stay here again.

As a native Montanan I have camped at literally dozens of lakes. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had camping in MT. Well kept up campground but some very important things to know before going: 1) This is a super popular site for every meathead with a power boat to put into the lake. There are dozens of trucks pulling boats driving up and down past the campsites all day long; 2) unlike most other MT state parks, these campsites are TINY and literally right on the road. Everyone will see everything you are doing, and some sites are barely big enough for a tent larger than a 2-person. 3) MOST IMPORTANT - THE TRAINS. Our campsite was, very literally, 150 feet from the railroad tracks. We arrived at 3 pm, and between 3-9 pm, ELEVEN trains went by. 11. We came with our young daughter and ended up having to pack camp and drive home 3 hours at 9 pm because the trains run ALL NIGHT. Your takeaway? Do NOT camp here if you care at all about privacy, serenity, or quiet (basically all the reasons that people go camping).

We saw that this park had a nice location on the lake, and just wanted to take a break and have a sit. Driving in, there was a suggestion there would be fees, so we dashed in, spent a few minutes on the lake, and were out before we got arrested for not paying. The campers are lucky to have this opportunity so close to town, but they would have the trains to contend with. Surely there are better ways to fund these public spaces...
