“Worth it!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and pretty good food overall. The only complaint we had was that the chef seems to think everything should be spicey! Since this has become common in many restaurants, my spouse & I have learned to order any type of sauce on the side which they nicely accommodated for him, mine did not have sauce (meatloaf) but I didn't think there was anything to worry about. Well it did indeed have a bit more spice than you would expect in meatloaf. However, there were generous portions and everything else including the delicious apple praline pie, was very good. The price is reasonable as well and good location in downtown Whitefish.

“Great home cooked style food”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

This was recommended by one of the Ski Patrol members. We had dinner there. It is NOT fancy, and the ambiance is what you would expect if you were to visit your great aunt circa 1980.

However, the staff and food were beyond expectation. The entrees were large, and tasty. I had a blackened salmon sandwich that was delicious. The salmon was cooked appropriately, and the French fries were crispy but not over fried.

The dessert (blackberry-huckleberry cobbler) was amazing! I asked it to be heated with a side of vanilla ice cream.

If you don't go there for dinner, definitely check it out for the pies!!! They are also dairy and gluten free but you would NEVER know it!

“Wished for better.”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

We went to Loula's after reading so many good reviews. We called early afternoon to book a table and were excited to eat here. We arrived only to be told we couldn't be seated due to some unexpected tables arriving. I asked if we could just sit and get a drink until the server had time to serve us and were told no again. After saying that we really didn't mind waiting, we were allowed to take a seat. Very odd. It was Winter Carnival and maybe this is why they were busier than usual but it was very off-putting to be turned away after booking a table.

After the owner and another server showed up we got served and were excited for our Loula experience. The food did take a while, but our server did come and give us a heads up and offered to take care of dessert. I got the wall-eye with black eyed peas and green beans. It was tasty and worth the wait!
My other half though got the fried chicken and mac & cheese and it was a let down. The pasta was buttery but not very cheesy and the chicken texture was just off. Overall I don't feel that this place is the best for dinner, but again maybe they were having an off night. Wished it'd been a better experience.

“Great for breakfast”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

We eat here breakfast here every time we come skiing. Staff is friendly, food is good, service is outstanding, and the price is right. What else could you want? It can get busy, but that's because it's a great place to eat.

We had an amazing dinner here! The waitress was very kind and service was very good. You have to try the huckleberry lemonade!
