Description: The lights are low, the music is turned up, wine is flowing, and the energy is buzzing in the air. It’s a perfect evening and the perfect setting for…Italian food at MAMBO’S. With creative twists on classic recipes there is something for everyone in the family. It’s Italian Nachos, Minestrone, Lasagne, Tiramisu, Chianti, Frank Sinatra, Great Fun, Wonderful Service and a whole lot more… Ciao Mambo atmosphere works just as well for romantic couples as it does for a cozy table of family, friends and children too.At Mambo’s, we serve up immigrant style Southern Italian cuisine in a happening family ambiance. Our pasta dishes with rich, savory sauces and fresh ingredients, thin crust pizzas baked to perfection, and unmatchable service will keep you coming back for more. If the atmosphere and friendly service don't seduce you, the pasta will. Bring your friends, family and appetite for fun, and we'll handle the rest. Come on in, your table is waiting!

We ate here twice during our visit to Whitefish, and it was full each time. That should tell you something. Reasonably priced, great food, and good atmosphere.

“MIxed experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

We were seated close to where to staff goes in and out of, which was loud and busy. Most of the food was good. I had a pasta dish which had good flavor, but too many sun dried tomatoes. Spinach salad was very good and the wine was excellent. Staff was friendly and service was good. Not bad, but I won't rush back

“Long wait, worth it”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

We arrived about 7:15 on the Friday of the Labour Day long week end. We had called earlier to make a reservation, however they only accept reservations for parties of 8 or more. When we called we were advised we would have a wait, and they were right. When we arrived we were advised wthe wait would be about an hour, and the wait was about 45 minutes. We had advised the hostess we would take first available and ended up with a seat at the bar, overlooking the kitchen. Cool spot to watch a very busy kitchen, and chit chat, and take recommendations from the kitchen staff.

The restaurant was very busy and the hostess noticed we had waited a few minutes without our server arriving so she bought us some water and took our drink order, great iniative and teamwork by the hostess to ensure guests expecations were met. We tried a local beer, a Huckleberry Ale, which was nice, although not as huckleberry flavoured as we expected.

Darcei arrived a few minutes later and took our appy order, Bocconcini Fritti, which was very nice, a very fresh tomato marinara sauce and bought us some bread, which is uniquely prepared and delicious (try not to fill up on the bread). For mains I had the Spaghetti Arrabiatta, spicey Italian sausage (excellent) and peppers, a bit of a kick, very nice. My wife had the Pollo Con Formaggio with Pasta. The chicken was prepared to perfection, although the portion size was huge (we got lunch for tomorrow).

We had the Spumoni ice cream to finsh our meal, which was excellent, the best I have ever had.

It was a long wait, however no surprise so our choice to wait, we did, and we were glad we did.

“Extremely good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

Ok, this Italian Restaurant is off the charts. The food, service and surroundings really make the place. The menu is really awesome but, it doesn't make much difference if you don't like the selection, which you won't, because they make pretty much make anything you want the way you want it. You can modify the dishes by selecting all sorts of additions or subtractions for the ingredients and sauces.

Get here early, they open at 5, and the line forms before the place opens. They are pretty much full within the first :15 minutes. Bring a big appetite! The portions are huge and everything is delicious. Oh, here's a couple special shout outs. One would be to try the Italian Nachos. The other would be our servers, Darcy and Kody. Great service and fun atmosphere make this place a real 10.

“Excellent Italian Fare!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

We are visiting Whitefish, MT for the first time. Followed the recommendations here on Trip Advisor to eat at Ciao Mambo. We are SO glad we did! The service is friendly and takes care of you. Good selections on the menu. We ordered two pasta entrées - both outstanding. The bread that is served with dinner is really good - garlic and other spices on top. The portions are huge - could not finish our meals. Still, we left room for dessert - Tiramisu! If you plan to go, get there early. They open at 5 pm for dinner and quickly get a waitlist. Overall well worth the visit.
