“Absolutely perfect meal from start to finish”
Reviewed October 28, 2009

My husband and I were staying at the Lodge and decided to walk and find a place for dinner. It was raining and this restaurant happened to be the closest one (@ a half mile from the Lodge at Whitefish Lake). From the moment we were seated, we were completely satisfied. The service was excellant and this was by far the best meal we had in Whitefish. The appetizer - "Vietnamese Spiders" were extraordinary and our entres just as delicious. The ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. We finished with a coconut cake for dessert and my husband ate every morsel and barely shared!

My only complaint is that I had ordered a glass of "Spanish Rose" wine and would like to buy it by the bottle, but don't know the name of it!

“Must try it...the owners are pure gold.”
Reviewed October 14, 2009

I have eaten at McGarry's over 15 times, and it is by far the best restaurant in Montana. Sandy the owner is out of a movie and the setting is fantastically upscale, but you won't feel out of place in jeans. One of the few places with a full bar and dedicated bartender. IF visiting or purely a local you must try McGarry's, the ribs and house fries are deelish as well as their extensive list of specials every night. The waitresses are also great and were recently featured in the Montana Magazine 408. Try the vietnamese spiders to start... you will be back...

“Amazing service”
Reviewed August 6, 2009

We ate at Mc Garry's on August 1, 2009. The food was excellent and the service we recieved was unbelievable. We could tell the people working there were truly enjoying themselves (one server practically chased a table into the parking lot to thank them and wish them a good vacation). When we walked by the open kitchen the chefs thanked us for coming in. The outdoor dining area on crushed gravel was a neat idea I have never seen before. Food was reasonably priced.

“Great steaks....a "roadhouse" in name only!”
Reviewed July 10, 2009

Upscale, "white table cloth" dining, that is not for the budget gourmet. Open kitchen. Chefs take standard American food and add some flavorful twists...a little wasabi, some Pacific Rim fusion spices....the Seattle-trained principle chef is willing to take some culinary risks that end up being quite tasty. Good wine list.

If you are expecting a guy with a Patrick Swayze mullet and blood and sawdust on the floor, this is NOT the place. This is for the "I can't afford Aspen, but I can be a Big Whitefish" crowd. Dress code is Mountain Dressy: Mercedes SUV-cowboy-Helly-Hanson-mountain-climber-turquoise-and-silver-chic. Blue blazers and cowboy boots work as well.

The staff is nice to the locals.

“Great Food and Great Staff”
Reviewed January 6, 2009

Love this place, especially Sandy and Steve, the friendly owners. You cannot beat the ambiance and those "Vietnamese spiders" appetizers. Good variety from assume burgers to the Korean style steak. Excellent wine list and bar in the newest place in town.
