Cafe Kandahar is gold. Whenever I get a chance to be in this area, I make sure to dine here. Each and every time they are consistently fantastic experiences. The food is brilliant. I had the Degustation menu each time. It is a tasting menu that is 11 courses of small bites that took around 2.5 hours. From quail, to octopus, to foie gras to Kobe beef, the ingredients used by Chef Andy Blanton are the best. They also aim to have much of the food locally sourced (not octopus obviously, we are talking about Montana here!) The wine pairings are fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. It's not pretentious at all, which allows everyone who enters to feel comfortable. The food is high end, it isn't cheap, but for me it's a place where I go if I am going for a treat. LOVE THIS PLACE.
