Stayed one night, it was a Thursday so the hotel was quiet. Stayed in the Viking in a King Room on the second floor. Rooms are really nice, pretty comfy beds that are on the firm side. Decent breakfast available with an epic view of get lake and mountains. The main lodge is beautiful and we hit the outdoor hot tub by the lake at sunset. Fitness area was well appointed with a lake view. Fire place in the lobby and the outdoor one by the main entrance were so cozy welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here. I could see if it was busy that it might be noisy but the staff seemed super helpful so I'm sure you could ask for a room in a quiet part as it seems huge.

I almost never bother writing reviews but my stepson and I just returned from a wonderful two night stay at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake--actually stayed across the street in the slightly lower-priced Viking Lodge, which is connected by skywalk to the original lodge, and it was so great I felt compelled to share. Everything was terrific: the room was huge and comfortable, with a gorgeous bathroom; the staff was super helpful; and the breakfasts that came with our ski and stay deal (a screaming deal, I might add), were delicious. The piece de resistance--besides the great weather we happened to catch, though we can't credit the resort with that-- is the outdoor jacuzzi pool--right on the lake with a view of Big Mountain (now called Whitefish Mountain). We will definitely be coming back!

Room Tip: They're currently adding on to the Viking Lodge so ask to be away from that. And if you think yo...

Never judge a book by its cover is how ill start this review off. A few friends and I headed to Whitefish for a few days of skiing and decided to stay at the Lodge. We love Whitefish and everything it has to offer. We usually go the VRBO route and rent a nice large chalet on the hill, but due to it being last minute ( flew in from Scottsdale and drove to Whitefish 6 hours later) this was our only option. I was tired, had a long drive, I pulled up to valet and it was full so I pulled into the back to get checked it. I was told by the valet to drive my truck out of his valet area and park it along the side. Fair enough, understandable. He was super accommodating and told us to leave the truck and he will take care of it. Great start!

Front desk a different story. We had 3 guys per room, the plan was to grab a rollaway bed for each room. We asked if we could upgrade to a larger room with a pullout couch. The girl at the front looked at the computer screen and said she would be right back. She went to the back room and another lady came out. They both looked at the screen and said they couldn't provide us a larger room. Money was no issue, we offered to pay whatever the cost was. We were told they couldn't do it and then charged us $40 per night for the rollaway bed. Even though we offered to pay for a larger room. I was not pleased in the least.

I was told that all these issue originate from the top down. Not going to go into any details but I had a great discussion with a few people that worked there.

We had three great breakfasts in the dining room, service was fantastic. The wait staff is fantastic! Had dinner one evening in the bar and it was great also, drinks were top notch.

The saving grace to this resort is the valet staff. They were fantastic.

First time we were here, we came in quiet season in May for some spring golf. We had a beautiful 3 bed, lake front condo that was absolutely amazing....5/5.

This time we came right when the snow was dumping in mid December and stayed in a 2 bed kitchenette suite...lake "view"

First off...the room was nice, clean, and spacious. A little stuffed black bear was always placed on one of the beds (for purchase of course), the cleaning ladies did an excellent job. The internet was fast and free...always a plus. The kitchenette was a bit of a joke. No utensils what so ever (other then nice coffee mugs and cups)! We had to call for a bottle opener...and a spoon. The coffee was the cheapest stuff available, and no first night complimentary water...which should be expected when spending over $250/night. The "partial" lake view is also a joke. Every night, you must shut the curtains because they windows look right onto other rooms...no privacy. The fireplace was nice to have and we used it every night. Didn't care much for the pillows...every morning my neck hurt because they were too fluffy.

The hot tub is aswesome and big...only problem was it was full of young locals and wedding parties partying it up...glass bottles everywhere...for an expensive hotel, thought this would be a bit more relaxing.

Front desk always seemed a bit off...cold attitude maybe??...couldn't put my finger on it. Save you're money if you feel like a yogurt parfait or muffin in the morning...complete rip off! $7US for half a cup with the granola at the bottom...impossible to mix. The free shuttle to town and the ski hill was great...a great added value.

The lounge...great atmosphere...thats all we liked about it. We ordered the fish tacos...$14 for 2 soft shells with 2 slabs of fish and colslaw...such a rip off!! My friends salad also looked gross, just a big plate of lettuce. Drinks were average, the live entertainment was actually not bad. I'm sure its better in the summer?

Overall, this second visit did not match the $275/night value, and will look elsewhere next time...maybe a vrbo or something.

Room Tip: lake view not worth it! Go for lake front.

This was a girls' time away with my close friend of nearly fifty years. We never ran away we were kids, so we decided there's no time like the present! We made the reservations just one day out, and the staff happily and efficiently accommodated us from picking us up at the train station, very early check in, everything we could possibly need. Our room, in a new addition across the road from the main lodge, (connected by a warm sky bridge) just beautiful. The entire lodge is decorated in a rustic hunting/fishing lodge sort of way, and our room blended seamlessly. Our room was huge with a very large bathroom with tub and walk-in shower. A half-wall with sliding window from the room to the bathroom makes it look even larger. Spa robes and sandals are provided in the rooms, a nice touch. Beautiful decor, complimentary on-demand shuttle to and from town by very friendly gentlemen, (they're also great for recommending places to eat and other things to do) unbelievable view of Whitefish Lake and the snow-capped mountains. Without exception, all the staff that we encountered were happy and very helpful. In-house latte stand was nice. We didn't eat at the lodge because the recommended restaurants were in town, but the lounge and restaurant both looked very nice. Our 9:00 pm train was behind schedule, so they allowed a very late checkout and shuttle back to the train station. This was, without a doubt, the best possible way to recharge our exhausted batteries!! Wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely be back! Everything was absolutely immaculate, it's obvious that they take great pride in this lodge and their small town.

This is the third year we have been here and we always look forward to it. This year didn't disappoint but there were a few changes.

There is construction taking place and we were sad to hear the outside hot tub by our room will soon be gone and more rooms added to the hotel.

We always went to the breakfast cafe for coffee but quickly learned that would to be our regular breakfast spot, $9 for a sandwich,$7 for yogurt and $4 for dry muffin. Do yourself a favour and head to Loula's to eat breakfast.

Same as last year, the robes are so lousy in the rooms.

The as usual the spa was good. The scrub and massage are amazing!!
