This was our first time staying here and was very satisfied with our visit and it is only a couple minutes drive from downtown The lodge has great atmosphere and the room we stayed in was quite large and very clean and updated. The staff was extremely helpful with telling us the best places to visit and the most scenic drives. The only thing to complain about was the train horns that were blasted in the middle of the night, but I am sure the same would be said for any hotel in the area. We also had a family in the next room with a small baby and could here the crying but not enough to spoil our stay. We will definitely be staying there again.

Great place to stay. Recently renovated rooms and common areas make for a pleasant stay.

Restaurant menus upgraded with creative offerings: ingredients sourced locally for farm to table cuisine. Wine list satisfactory with a range of offerings.

Location outstanding, especially if you are into outdoor sports. New gym offers opportunity to work out when weather is inclement or to warm up before a major excursion. Spa offers options for indulgence or relaxation (or relief after a major hike).

Open year round so can visit for skiing and winter sports. Easy access to airport.

We went for a convention. First they messed up reservation and put my family in a single occupancy room. During our stay they had large hot tub and pool down for service so therw was nothing at hotel for family to enjoy. When left they charged my personal bank card instead of refunding for deposit and took over a week to return moneys making me have to pay for bank transaction fees myself. Very disappointed in service and lodge.

This is a nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The best part was the pet policy which allowed us to bring our dog with us this vacation to Montana. The room was clean, well equipped and a good value for the money. The second week of October is a "red leaf" time to view the trees turning colors and enjoy sunny days in the beautiful mountains around Whitefish. Even though Glacier Park was closed due to Govt. shutdown, we enjoyed the rest of the area around NW Montana. We would go back again!

Grouse Mountain is a nice hotel, the lobby is beautiful, and the fire is very warming. We drove over for the weekend as we had family visiting and wanted to show them the sites. We have stayed at Grouse many times in the past but this exp. was not very nice. The staff is great but they need help in the room cleaning dept. we checked into one room on the lower level and it was dirty, table had not been dusted or wiped down, human hair on bath floor, mirrors not wiped down, so my husband asked to be moved, so accross the hall we went. That room was just as bad. We had dinner plans so we asked the front desk to try again and we would check back w/ her when we returned. When we returned she said the porter checked our room and assured us it was in good cond. this one was the worst. Soda on the ceiling and on the flat screen, the coffee bar had coffee spilled and not wipped up and when I moved the coffee pot it looked like it never was moved to be cleaned behind, toothpaste on the mirrors, hair in corners of bathroom floor, urine on bottom of toilet where it bolts down, the air/heat vent had tons of dust on it, I did take pic's to share w/ the manager. Never before have we had such time. Maybe next time if there is, it will be better.

The hotel had so many good points, that it almost makes it hard to give a bad review. The front desk staff, as well as the shuttle drivers were great, very friendly and helpful. For the most part the restuarant staff was decent except for one lady who was working the evenings on the weekend. She was rude, unfriendly, and it was almost like she wanted to go out of her way to make you feel unwelcome. We were watching NFL on Sunday in the bar all day, had eaten lunch, had some drinks, and were pleasently served until she arrived. Upon her arrival, she marched in, changed the channel on the TV we were obviously watching, then didn't awknowledge us until we after some time we finally went up to the bar to request more beverages.
The rooms were great, we had a third floor room with great vaulted ceilings and a golf course view, but when we went to get into bed, we noticed there was old, dried blood all over our comforter. The hotel didn't carry any extras on hand, so they had to take one from an unused room. It worked for us at the time, but if the hotel had been fully booked, I'm not sure what they would have done, and we were definitly not sleeping with bloody bedding.
The pool was an ok size, not very busy which made it nice. It was great that there were two hot tubs, and they were both outside so you could watch the golfers, but unfortunately they were barely warmer than the pool. It was more like a warm bath then a hot tub.

This hotel does have its pros and cons. It's restaurant has good food but it is a little pricey. The shower didn't drain and it smelled like cigarettes in the bathroom. Being a non smoker this was disgusting for me. Also, we had a room on the lower level and we could hear everything above us. People waking up at 530am and walking back and forth or children running down the hall. My husband could hear the couple above us having a full out conversation while he was in the bathroom. The beds were super comfy. I would recommend staying on the 2nd floor if possible.
