This turned out to be a nice stay despite ownership by Glacier Park Co. It is better and less money than their hotel in the park. Located next to a golf course it is a quiet and scenic location.
We came for their Harvest FEST which included a tour of organic farms and then dinner. The diner was themed for local produce grown at the farms we visited and included tastings of local wines and spirits.
Rooms were clean and roomy but the beds were uncomfortably soft. I suppose the same manager buys beds for this place as for St Mary Lodge in the park.
There is a tiny indoor pool, which is really too small for exercise. Breakfast in the restaurant was satisfactory.

We spent a night here in early September and had a wonderful stay. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming upon check-in, and after recognizing us later in the evening asked if everything was acceptable.

The room was large and spacious, with an incredibly high ceiling giving a sense that the room was even bigger than it actually was. The room was very clean (bathroom, bed sheets and carpet were all spotlessly clean).

The only thing of note was that the lobby of the Grouse Mountain Lodge is far smaller, and less impressive looking, when compared to some of the other Lodges operated by Glacier Park Inc. As such, there really wasn't much room in which to simply sit/hangout in the lobby and soak in the atmosphere of such a nice, unique hotel.

Despite this, I would certainly return, as well as recommend others to stay.

We booked through third party, hoping (fingers crossed) for best, as lodging difficult to find when we visited area in mid-September. Grouse Mountain is first-class operation. Accommodations excellent, staff friendly, helpful, professional. Not inexpensive, but good value. We would return again in heartbeat.

This place is very beautiful and a perfect vacation destination! My new husband and I stayed here for almost 1 week. We had our wedding dinner reception here and all of our guests stayed here during the time. The staff was wonderful. Everything went perfect thanks to the staff, in particular - Sterling Bennett (sp) and Joan Gephart were the people I worked with to coordinate the dinner and they were so accommodating that it made our event so much more special and wonderful! Truly a wonderful experience!!! The rooms are very nice, and clean - as is the entire hotel. Family who stayed here with me said that this is the first time they went on vacation and didn't want to leave! I will definitely recommend this place for all looking for a vacation/wedding destination! I will certainly come back to stay for future vacations as well!

Room Tip: The rain shower loft if amazing!!!

Stayed in a loft room. It is well planned and equipped with a small fridge and microwave. You have a little kitchen area (with small folding dining table), the living room and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one king bed and one with two twin beds. You can enter from either level; particularly useful when you have luggage that you want to keep in the bedrooms. My only complain (very minor) was that the upper story is very, very dark. Since it doesn't have windows that is normal but the lighting/lamps are very, very inadequate and dim. With a bit more brightness in the lamps/lights it would have been perfect. They have dispensers for body lotion, soap and shampoo , in the bathrooms and the vanity outside the bathroom. This is a great concept and very environmentally friendly. Place was very clean and if you skip the housekeeping they give you a $5 coupon to use at the restaurants on property :) The lodge provides a free shuttle service to downtown Whitefish (just 5 minutes away) which is great and means you don't have to worry about driving in yourself and parking. The people are very friendly. Overall a very nice experience.
