We stayed at this lodge for a full week and had daily breakfasts and 3 dinners here. All were well prepared and well presented. Very good range of selections. The chef even prepared scallops differently than the menu offering to meet our requests.

Staff was lovely and food very good. I only gave four stars because the kids didn't love their food. The adults did. Loved the elk meatballs especially.

Average food. We tried the beef tenderloin bruschetta and split the Cobb salad. The bruschetta came on cold, soft bread, rather than toasted bread. So the tenderloin seeped into the bread and made it soggy. My suggestion is to just take the mushrooms and tenderloin off the bread and eat those separately. We did that and improved the dish. The Cobb salad was decent. Nothing spectacular. When we asked for 2 separate plates, the waitress did not advise us it would be $4 more. She did a great job otherwise.

Of course, the outdoor dining area overlooks the marina and lake. So, I feel it's worth dining here at least once to take in the views. However, we were just not enthused with the fare.

Parking tip: they provide complimentary valet. Otherwise, you park across the street and walk over.

Dear Alex A,

We're disappointed to hear that you found your meal to just be "average". And you are absolutely correct, the bread should have been toasted...that one's on us.

Yes, we should've prepared it correctly the first time, but in the future, please know that we (and most establishments) want to know when we fail to prepare something as you like, or expected. Had we known, we absolutely would have corrected ourselves immediately so that you could have truly enjoyed your meal.

We hope you will return to see that this was an isolated incident, and that we have corrected ourselves.

Wishing you the best!

My steak was very tender, but tasteless, except for the glob of butter placed on it. Live music brightened the c atmosphere in the bar. I did not stay at the hotel but it looked acceptable.

Dear leoo849,

We're happy you enjoyed the live music in the bar.

We're happy you were served a "very tender" steak, but sorry to hear that you found it to be tasteless. We proudly serve Allen Brothers Prime Beef, and realize it can be difficult to get it right for everyone. For this reason, we purposely do not over season our steaks. So, for those who do like a little more seasoning or enjoy a sauce, we offer several as a side so our guests can season to taste.

We hope to see you again soon!

The best place to dine in Whitefish MT. Serviced is excellent. Staff is obviously well-trained. The Huckleberry Mud Pie is a must have. Excellent menu--something for everyone--fine dining or family menu. Good wines. Great view.
