The Boat Club, and, in the summer, the Tiki bar by the boat launch are 2 of my favorite places to hang out. The view, the atmosphere, even the service is lovely...so why can't the food be as good as the rest of the features? I just ate at the Tiki bar with friends and was once again so disappointed with the meal. We all ordered salads, which weren't cheap, and when they came out it looked like a small tapas plate with 3 cucumbers, 1 wedge of tomato, 2 pieces of bib lettuce and about a 1/4 cup of pork & noodles. We weren't even sure how to eat the "salad" and ended up treating it like lettuce wraps (2 extremely small lettuce wraps). Whitefish has so many great restaurants with amazing food...why can't this place be one of them?

Great views of whitefish lake and good beer selection. Be sure to try the sweet potato chips! The dinner menu is rather limited but the portions are large. Lots of good California wines on their list.

Meal was really very good with some nice touches. Curry was hotter than expected ... but good!

The location can't be beat if you want to enjoy a spectacular view of Whitefish Lake about a mile from city center. Park across the busy street and stroll over to the inviting atmosphere. There is a good selection of draft beers, but the food served us was poorly prepared (undercooked, little taste). Some servers were very good, while others...well, they're learning. Food costs are on the expensive side compared to the competition. Oh, and supplied live music was on the weak.

GOOD NEWS - cheap buffets (about $11). Wed. night from 5 p.m. to about 6 .m. for seafood buffet includes small crab legs, frozen shrimp, smoked trout, cheese and crackers. Come early. Also, a great view of Whitefish Lake from its southern shore.

Weekend breakfast buffets in the adjacent Coffee 'Dock room last from about 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. include sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, coffee, fresh fruit, granola and coffee or tea. Never seen more than 5 tables at once for one or two staff. Coffee Dock staff are excellent.

BAD NEWS Seafood Buffet at The BOAT CLUB goes quick. It isn't endless. One time a busload of 38 cleaned it out in less than 1/2 an hour. Don't expect any service. Tried this buffet four different months with different friends and family - ALWAYS IGNORED BY WAITRESSES. Is there a manager out there? Got our own silverware. Got our own water refills. Had to beg for a bill every single time I went there. Not going back.

THE UGLY.. Waitresses seem to pick who they want to serve -- people with Rolexes, flashy diamond earrings, a local state Senator and give the flash folks lots and lots of service. People wearing blue jeans without Zircon studs or a Carhardt cap are invisible to the snobby Boat Club staff.

It's VERY NOISY. Menu items are very pricey with small portions. After the sun sets you're paying thru the teeth for menu items and getting NO SERVICE.
