Description: Located in downtown Whitefish, the recently renovated & reinvented Craggy Range boasts innovative gastropub fare, an extensive offering of creative libations, flat screens, pool tables, a full service patio, and a live music stage. The heart of Craggy's local gastropub atmosphere is the centrally located bar featuring 16 craft beer taps. The innovative menu along with knowledgeable service that's never stuffy or pretentious, and a persistent, creative high energy atmosphere provide a popular community gathering place. During the renovation, an historical wall of hand-painted sign art on cinder blocks was revealed. The wall art includes local family names going back three and four generations in Whitefish, including the Goble and Sillaker families. Word on the street has it that the wall is from the old Hanging Tree. The wall now serves as a focal point to the centrally located bar, home to a large flat screen TV which covers an old window cut-out in the center of the historical find. In addition to the hand-painted sign art, some other unique and edgy additions are the garage style front windows, the longest frost bar in Montana, a railroad foot rail around the bar, sixteen flat screens, including two on the patio, and an upgraded stage area for live music. The expanded central bar and open feel of the entire space creates a fun and interactive experience for watching the game, listening to live music, and enjoying dining with friends and family.

“Great for dinner”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

Came here on Monday night for dinner, they were not busy so we got a table right away.
We ordered the Greek Molten Artichoke dip for an appetizer, usually you run out of dip before you run out of the bread, but here, they give you more than enough dip-it was the perfectly balanced amount of dip to pita.bread.

I ordered the Black and Bleu salad which was very good and a very generous portion. My husband had the Cowboy Flatiron Steak which he devoured before I had a chance to ask for a bite-must have been really good!

Our service was fast and friendly. We will be returning.
I think I have to recommend making reservations on a Tuesday night during the summer, we did not know and every restaurant had a 2 hour wait on Tuesday night-apparently there is a Farmer's Market with live music then during the summers. Sadly, we had to drive outside of Whitefish to find a place to eat for dinner...and it wasn't very spectacular.

“Great choice for dinner often with live entertainment”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

We loved the Craggy Range and went back for a second dinner during our week in Whitefish. Excellent menu selections and food was equally good. Prices were reasonable for the area. Oh, if you want to go on a Saturday night, have a reservation.

“We will be back!”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

We loved the food! I had the black & bleu salad, my husband had a burger. The portions were large. The staff were all wonderful. It was quie busy, yet we were quickly served our drinks & the food didn't take long to come at all. Our waitress came by several times to check on us. The patio ambiance & music is fun. Can't wait to go back to try something else from their large menu!

“Exceptionally flexible and delicious food”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

We went into the Craggy Range Bar & Grill about 2:30 PM for lunch. We had a group of 7 when we arrived, but told them that more might join us. We were in Whitefish for a family reunion. They seated us where tables could be added and ultimately we ended with a party of 24 people, ranging in age from 71 to 6. Everyone found something to like on the menu, the food came out promptly and was delicious, the service was wonderful. I don't know how they did it, but it was great and I'll go back the next time we are in Whitefish.

“Our 1st restaurant in Whitefish, it is OK”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

This was our first restaurant visit in Whitefish. We ordered a crab cake starter and 2 burgers. The cakes were tasteless and 1 of the 2 burgers came as ordered. We had the opportunity to eat outside in the back but the day was hot so we choose the bar. Seating options are a tall stool or another tall stool. Our waitress Maren was very friendly but seemed to have the only personality in the restaurant. We were eating at 2:30 pm so not their peak hours. They have several windows facing the street but they all have advertising and haven't been cleaned in a while. OK, but we are anxious to try other options
