Attraction details
Owner description: Whitefish Mountain Resort, in northwest Montana, is noted for its laid-back vibe, world-class skiing, and unbeatable value. The resort sees an average of 300 inches of snow on its 3,000 acres, and is as well known for a pleasant lack of lift lines as for its consistently good snow conditions. When the snow melts, Whitefish Mountain Resort becomes home to thrilling zip lines and an alpine slide, world-class downhill and cross-country mountain biking, and the unique Walk in the Treetops, in addition to spectacular hiking, water sports, fly fishing, whitewater rafting, Glacier National Park, and more available in the greater Whitefish area. It is the perfect base camp for a summer visit to Montana’s majestic Flathead Valley.

We have been coming to Whitefish for many years. They have a good variety of runs and lots of black runs. The only downside that we saw this trip was the amount of polling needed to make it to certain runs. This tires a person out and that would be an area that the resort could improve upon. Good variety of shopping and restaurants. I would recommend purchasing the Costco lift tickets as they are 20 dollars cheaper than on he hill.

We hit it right this week with fresh snow almost daily. The variety of runs was wide, suitable for novice kids and almost expert adults. Travellers should try and avoid the time when Presidents weekend overlaps with Reading Week in Canada as the hill was very busy with long lineups on that weekend. Parking is a challenge unless you are real early, but they do have shuttles that will run you and your gear up the hill. Overall great experience, we will be back to this hill for sure.

Been skiing all over the world and Whitefish has some really good skiing for any ability. Good long Blue Cruisers, challenging Black Diamonds, and some wide open Beginner slopes that are pretty long. Good food and Lift Tickets are reasonably priced. No real crowds compared to some of the Utah and CO resorts. Short drive from Whitefish, where lodging is inexpensive and more selection of places to eat. Recommend.

We skied here in January 2014. The snow was in great shape considering they hadn't had snow for over a week. We actually had in inversion the first couple days and great sun at the top of the mountain. The other two days we skied in the famous fog. We discovered there was no fog on the runs on the back side of the mountain so that ended up being a great option in dealing with the visibility. The lift lines were quite short and we felt it was a very economical resort to ski at.

No new snow in recent days, but beautifully groomed slopes. It was VERY cold while we were there, and on the first day skied shorter runs with more warming stops. The Snow Ambassadors were a fantastic group of volunteers who gave us guided tours of all the groomed runs. Everyone working at the resort was friendly, helpful and gave great advice. We'll be back!
