We had 3 nights at this hotel and we were very lucky to be upgraded to a suit which was great as there was 4 of us and lots of luggage! It was a lovely large room with sitting room/kitchen, bedroom with 2 large beds and a well appointed bathroom.

The hotel is ideally suited for getting into Yellowstone and entering the park from the west entrance we saw plenty of wild life along the road, including bison and 2 eagles who nest in that vicinity. There are also plenty of places nearby to eat in the evenings.

The A/C was quite noisy which made it a little difficult to sleep but the main problem with the hotel is the seating area for breakfast as many other reviewers have mentioned. It didn't trouble us too much as we didn't particularly want an early start and were happy to go down after the 'rush', but it did inconvenience some people.

The other problem was the Wifi connection which was fairly hopeless. Didn't bother me overly but when you're travelling with teenagers not being able to get onto Facebook can be disasterous!!!

1) room was fine, place to sleep
2)not a great breakfast in morning
3) when we arrived they were overbooked. we had a reservation but they told us to go to the
Holiday Inn down the street. We would not have cared but they never called us and we were traveling all day. Clerk at the desk did not care and the way they talked up the Holiday Inn you would think Gray Wolf was a dump. Finally they gave us a room there.

Felt most of the workers knew place was booked so why care

Truth is, these days in tourist locales like West Yellowstone, it is a captive audience and the major hotels are run by corporations. That explains our experience recently at the Gray Wolf. We had little hot water the first night and almost none the second morning. On checkout, I complained to the hotel desk clerk. The clerk was trained well, saying that because I had booked on Travelocity, they could not help. I had to contact Travelocity. Of course, that simply deflected my complaint and it was too late to get any satisfaction from anyone once I left the hotel. Even VISA credit card policy is to deny disputed charges for hotels after the stay. The clerk was a local kid who was told to brush off all complaints and not to seek to help. The hotel is booked solid during high season and they don't need to make people happy. I suggest you take your money and time to a locally owned hotel where they care about their product. I see several listed that you can find easily. It was a lesson well learned and I won't patronize the mega hotels in tourist locales any longer.

Room Tip: don't stay here

My family and I recently stayed here and found it really comfortable. It is conveniently located to the park and has just about everything you would need, good beds, clean bathroom, internet access and TV. The breakfast in the morning hit the spot, too. We were there for 4 nights, so we choose a suite. It was very large and comfotable. A bit spendy, maybe, but worth it to not feel like we were tripping over each other. The hotel is across the street from the Bear and Wolf center and a couple of nights, we had the pleasure of waking up to the sound of the wolves howling. We enjoyed the interuption, because we don't hear wolves where we're from. But, if you don't want to hear wolves, keep the windows shut and run the AC.

Nothing fancy about the room for the price you pay but the location is great. Neverthelees, the odor that came from the bathroom during our two-night stay was unbearable. The AC made so much noise we had to turn it off. Many stains on the carpets in the corridors, unfriendly staff. Not to mention breakfast! If you want to have a chance to get a choice on the food, you'd better get up early. Definitely not worth the price in many aspects.
