“Good Nights Stay”
Reviewed August 21, 2008

We traveled the Yellowstone and Tetons and found this hotel to be very friendly, clean and nice location. Our room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was clean and the food was great, not overpriced for the area. We had a great continental breakfast with make your own waffles and all the fixings.

Having committed to staying in this hotel before we read the reviews we were a little concerned about what to expect. The rooms are gloomy with tired furnishings, the aircon is noisy, the communal bar/casino area is exceptionally smokey which pervades most of the hotel and cleanliness is not the best. However, compared to most other motels/chains the breakfast is good and the hotel is different! It may not have much 'warmth' or character and may try to be something it shouldn't but it was a welcome change to the functionality/sterility of Super 8, Days Inn etc etc.

We recently stayed at the StageCoach Inn and left after only one night. The room was cramped and old. The closet was so dark you couldn't see your clothing hanging in there but the worse of all was...our non-smoking room was directly above the smoking bar which was hazy with cigarette smoke by 11 pm. A jukebox was also directly below us and was blasting from 11pm until 2 am and the hotel staff couldn't have cared less and told us directly it would be playing until 2 am. We barely slept all night not to mention the headaches caused from being in a room full of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was poor. No coffee was put out. Many people had to ask for it before it was provided. Needless to say we packed our bags and left. We will also be complaining to the AAA/CAA as they should not be recommending this place.

  • Liked — nothing
  • Disliked — non smoking room over a smoking bar and jukebox playing directly under us for hours

A really weird hotel with no feeling of warmth or character despite its appearance. It didn't look clean.
Just completed a 17 day tour of the national parks & this was by far the worst hotel we stayed at.
Free continental breakfast if you don't mind styrofoam crockery & plastic cutlery.

The only reason we stayed here as opposed to accomodations in Yellowstone Park was to have AC. The rooms in Yellowstone didn't have AC & with 100 degree plus temperatures that was a must. We arrived on a Saturday evening & the AC was broken in the area of the motel where we were staying. The desk didn't bother telling us at checkin, they let us discover it for ourselves. We asked for another room, but the desk clerk said there were no other rooms available, but not to worry, a repairman was on the way.
During the days of our stay, we were out enjoying Yellowstone, but each evening we returned we found the same "hot oven" room. Each time I went to the front desk, it was a different person with a different story/excuse.
Our room was on the ground floor at street level. This made it impossible to leave the room window open while we were gone and very noisey & dangerous to do so at night..
We suffered through four days of discomfort and runarounds before the AC in our section of the building was working. The other sweating guests in this area had been one-nighters. And the majority of the occupants were in the AC filled area.
Long story short, at checkout I complained to another "new face", figuring I should get some sort of break for all of my inconvenience and discomfort. Well, as you might guess, the clerk was not authorized to do anything. He took my info, phone numbers, email numbers, address, etc. promising to convey my story to the powers that be.
Needless to say, they never tried to contact me, and my phones call from home were answered by clerks who didn't know anything, but would gladly pass on my messages.
I finally came to the realization that they got my money and couldn't care less. AVOID THIS JOINT AT ALL COSTS!!

Stayed here for one night recently, and was terribly disappointed. What was supposed to be a non-smoking room was directly above the lounge, so not only did we smell cigarette smoke all night long, the booming bass from the band kept us up all night! By the time the band started playing, it was 9Pm and we had already settled in for the night, so it was pointless to ask for another room. If that wasn't enough, after the bar closed down at 2 AM, there was a lot of noise from the parking lot below, just outside our window. It was the worst night I've ever spent in a hotel! If you do stay here, ask for a room away from the restaurant/bar or you will be miserable.

  • Liked — Location, Old West ambience
  • Disliked — Noise and cigarette smoke from the bar drifted into our room.

Not a very nice room - the air conditioner did not work. The front desk was friendly, but not very professional. It was centrally located to the downtown area - we had an excellent dinner in downtown W. Yellowstone. The room price was $98 - cheaper than most lodging, however we were disappointed they did not offer Wi-Fi service. There was a "mom and pop" type motel across the street that had free Wi-Fi so we were disappointed the Stage Coach did not offer it. The complimentary breakfast was the typical fare. Would probably not stay at this hotel again.
