“GOOD PRICES FOR SUMMER-NICE BIG ROOM!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We took 2 of my family to see Yellowstone Park and chose this motel because of decent ratings and price. It was a very spacious room with 2 queen beds. It was clean, and since we had a room at the end was also quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: This motel was located in West Yellowstone-just a short distance from entering the park.

We stayed here four nights. It is only a few minutes from the Yellowstone west entrance. The rooms are very large. You can tell it is an older hotel, but they have done a decent job of updating. It still has CRT TVs, but they work fine.
The breakfast is so-so, but fine for an included/free breakfast. It saves money from having to go out and time since you probably want to get going to Yellowstone park.
We used the whirlpools twice. They are downstairs in one of the buildings and were in nice shape. It is right on the "strip" where most of the restaurants and souvenir shops are.

It is a fine place to stay while visiting Yellowstone.

We stayed here after our first full, exhausting day at Yellowstone. I was SO happy they were so close the West Gate...5 minutes or less and you're there. It's like stepping back in time as you drive down the main street to the hotel. There are little western-themed shops all along. Very cute, and fun to just stroll. We checked in around 6 pm, the clerk was friendly and helpful. Our room was on 2nd floor, no elevator, but that was okay. Room was very clean, very spacious. Furnishings were dated, but everything worked. Old TV, but okay. They don't have a pool, but they do have 2 hot tubs. The only weird thing is they are in a basement area....a little creepy, but they looked well maintained. We passed on that experience. We took a walk down the main street to see the sights and get an ice cream. It's a nice area, everything is close and there's a good variety of stores, restaurants and little amusements. All in all, we enjoyed West Yellowstone. Breakfast at the Brandin' Iron is very good. Great assortment of foods, good coffee, wonderful staff. And, I enjoyed the full wall mural they have in the breakfast room depicting an old fashioned "chuck wagon"... so cute. So, overall, a good experience at the Brandin' Iron Inn. Our rate for the one night was $134.10, plus taxes (what the heck is a "bed tax"?), so total came to $148.51. A little steep for one night, but being this close to the West Gate, definitely worth it. I would stay there again if I ever find myself in that area.

Nothing spectacular here. Run of the mill hotel, but was very clean and a great location. You can walk to everything you need from the hotel. The continental breakfast was pretty basic, and very busy when we went at 8:00 am. Staff were courteous.

This hotel was the worst I have stayed in. We wanted to get out right away. One of our family members had argument with manager because their room had blood on pillow, hair in counter sink and bathtub, and dust everywhere. Manager was oblivious to all this and kept asking us "what do you want us to do about it?" It is obvious this hotel is not upkept as I even discovered person's old shoes underneath our bed. Breakfast was crap just cereal and bread with egg that could kill someone. We wanted to get out soon as possible. Tip to others: pay little extra at chain hotel in this area like best western. We should have. Paid $160 for this place! This place scared the hell out of me.
