“Beautiful and Stunning”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Bar-N-Ranch is a beautiful and absolutely stunning place. We arrived looking for a room for that night and was welcomed by an extremely friendly and helpful team. Our room and the rest of the ranch was immaculate. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant where the food was first class and the staff were professional and very friendly. We had a great night.
Overall the experience we had at Bar-N-Ranch was unforgettable, I would recommend Bar-N-Ranch to anybody.

Our splurge for the trip! We rented a cabin with a hot tub that allowed dogs, it was perfect! The real fireplace was a treat after a chilly walk around the grounds. The hot tub was hot and very pretty with the pond just beyond. The bed was so comfortable that I think we might buy that same mattress for our own home! The restaurant was nice – rustic feeling but clean and new. We loved the antelope sausage. If we had the time or energy, we probably would have just grilled at our cabin but they didn’t have much for dishware so it would have been difficult.

Room Tip: There is no bad room - all the cabins are lovely!

We stayed in the Bar-N-Ranch during a trip to Yellowstone National Park in July. The first couple of nights of our visit were spent at a lodge inside the park, so the ranch was a welcome relief to the noise, crowds, and general busyness that we encountered inside the park. We had a room inside the main building, as opposed to a cabin. Although it was "cozy" as some other reviewers have noted, we were quite satisfied with our stay. The décor throughout the main building is, as might be expected, western -- with lots of interesting furniture, art work, and various tools, knick-knacks, etc. from ranch life of another era. I very much enjoyed having coffee on the porch in the morning -- very peaceful and relaxing. Didn't get a chance to try out the fireplace, as -- well -- it was July. My wife was pleased that the Wi-Fi seemed to work best inside the main building, if you care about that kind of thing.
I'm afraid I can't really draw a price-value conclusion, as our stay -- as well as our meals at the onsite restaurant -- were part of a tour package. So I really don't know how much we paid!
In any regard, if and when we make our way back to Yellowstone, I will definitely be looking up the ranch and a possible place for a return visit.

Bar N Ranch is the BEST accommodation you will probably find in the West Yellowstone area.
The ranch setting was so relaxing and quiet after a full day in Yellowstone Park. The adjacent Bar N Restaurant was an extra bonus......super good food, great service, and a high quality of freshly prepared entrees. We spent 3 nights in Buttermilk cabin......living room is spacious, bedroom not so much! And the bathroom was "tiny".... more than difficult to organize bath accessories. The brand new mattress actually was very comfortable......IF you were able to get onto the bed which was extremely high! New,lower bedframes are needed in this cabin. The cabin itself is nice, however more attention needs to be put into the "used" looking furniture. All quirky things considered in this cabin, we did have a most enjoyable stay.
The 4th night was not available in the cabin, so we chose to stay in the small Colter Lodge room. Do NOT stay in this room for over 24 hours! It is SO small and has NO room for luggage or people for that matter. The Bar N does discount this lodge room and acknowledges its small size. It fit our need, but we were more than ready to check out ! The Bar N was close to horseback riding, the town of West Yellowstone, and the western park entrance. I would definitely stay here again......not plush, but if fit our "cowboy vacation" nicely.

Room Tip: Lodge rooms are upstairs.....no elevator although the staff assisted with luggage. Cabins seem to b...

This place was way overpriced. The cabins were old, small and smelly. The rooms were cramped also, but they had a nice deck. I coffee was good in the morning. I would prefer to save my money by staying at a Holiday Inn Express, or something similar, and use my savings for other things.

We visited for three nights in July. We had a heat wave during our stay and realized this place has no air conditioning - it was hot in our room, but we did have a fireplace. The room was very small, no closet, modest furnishings. The bathroom was the size of a postage stamp with a miniature sink and only standing room for one person. The rate of $250 plus tax per night just for the room was too high compared to the type of accommodations. We only found great reviews for this lodging on TripAdvisor, we cannot understand why everyone raves about this place. The restaurant was expensive and mediocre. The staff was very friendly and pleasant at the lodge and at the restaurant - they deserve a 5 star rating.

We spent 2 nights at the Bar N Ranch and loved the whole place. We stayed in the lodge as the cabins were booked;the lodge is pretty unique and cool with a great common area/lounge on the main floor. They have 3 fireplaces in this lounge area, comfy sofas, lots of interesting taxidermy & just outside, a pool and hot tub. We had our 2 teen daughters who slept on a queen pull out futon in the room & my husband and I had the king bed. Unfortunately there was a family beside us with very young children and we could hear them too well - I don't know if better soundproofing is possible but it would have helped. We ate at the restaurant for dinner once and breakfast twice. The food was AMAZING!! I wish I could go back to the restaurant. The service was so - so especially at one of the breakfasts, but the food and setting made up for it. We stayed at Bar N Ranch while exploring Yellowstone & it was great to relax away from the Yellowstone crowds. I highly recommend Bar-N-Ranch.
