My family and I stayed at this hotel for four days while exploring the park. We had a queen suite that was spacious and fully equipped with a full size fridge, cooking stove and microwave. The front desk staff couldn't have been nicer. We asked for an extra blanket and 5 sec later boom "here you are sir" with a smile. Hey do you know of a close by restaurant? "Absolutely, let me draw you a map" Having a bit of trouble with the TV remote. Brought it to their attention and it was fixed like that! There was no we' ll send somebody by later or soon no it was 'boom" done! Every request we had was professionally and expediently carried out. Even the morning continental breakfast was both expansive and diverse. I just want to commend the staff on the quality of the level of service they offer. I spend a fair amount of time in Ritz-Carlton on business but I never expected that level of service from a Best Western in Wyoming. The property itself has a location just off the main tourist area to be more secluded with a city park across the street complete with playground and baseball field. When I hear about someone I know coming to Yellowstone, I will surely recommend this property!

There are 3 BW in this tiny town, just a few stepps from each other. This motel has 2 buildings, the mainbuilding is motel style with a very small lobby in it. It is more like a cheap motel-chains-lobby than what I know from BW all over the States. It’s just the counter, a small place to seat and that’s it. They offer continental breakfast... where do they serve it? We will see tomorrow...
The second building is 3 floors and beware! First floor is in the basement, with windows directly at streetlevel! If you mind staying in a basement room tell them when making the reservation.
Check in was excellent though. Our room was not ready as we were very early, and I found out they wanted to give us a basement-room. I refused, so the very nice lady at check-in gave us another room and we could use it with a very early check-in.
The room is ok. The usual motel room, spacious, equipped with 2 beds, desk, 2 chairs, a wardrobe and TV on a counter. You will find a fridge and microwave. Sink is in the back of the room, bathtub and toilet in an extra room with real window! Bathroom looks newly remodeled. Beds are missing covers on the lower mattrasses which I do not like. It’s like in cheap motels. This makes me downgrade this place.
After all the room was really clean. While we were there, housemaid came to change showercurtains. Bathroom is very clean. Nice showerhead, but weaker pressure than usual. Lots of fluffy towels and the usual soap and shampoo. There’s a phone and coffeemaker as well as hairdryer and ironing equipment in here. Air condition worked well (we had to turn the heat on), was not too loud. Lamps have strong bulbs to lighten the room which is a plus.
Main building has exterior corridors and rooms facing the street will get traffic noise. Hardly any cars during night. There are lots of crackling sounds in the whole structure throughout the night, especially when another guest is walking around, but as well when no one is walking around. Perhaps some animals on the roof? The wind? Or just the wooden structure. Was a bit disturbing for me.
Within walking distance is the mainstreet of this small town, with lots of shops, small supermarkets and hotels as well as bars and small restaurants. You even can walk to IMAX 4 or 5 blocks. It’s not far – 8 minutes or so. Get your coupon for Imax at check-in.
You can walk the whole town center, it’s really a small town.
This BW was the cheapest of the three in town and this certainly shows to me allthough it is really well maintained and under a good manager. I would grade it a 1 ½ star place though.

  • Liked — close to the park and main street, cleanliness of the hotel
  • Disliked — no cover on lower mattress, basement rooms

This location is a short walking distance to everything in town. Friendly staff, room was clean and perfectly suitable. Water is fantastic. Good showers. Exceptional breakfast. Pets ok. What more can you ask? Ok, pool and hot tub not open yet for season, when we stayed.

We got the hotel's two room suite. The bed was very hard and the living room dark with minimum lighting. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful especially when we needed the pillows exchanged and the toilet plunged. We were somewhat disappointed with the breakfast layout and the dining area was very small.

We stayed at this hotel with our two young daughters and we thought the hotel was decent, not a bad place to stay but nothing fancy about it. From the outside the hotel does not look so nice but we stayed on the third floor of the back building and our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Across the street from the hotel is a large park with a play area for the kids. When we were there we took our girls to play at the park and there was a bunch of kids there and our girls had fun. On the other side of the park is the main street area with all the small shops and restaurants, it is within walking distance from the hotel. Overall this hotel is a decent place to stay, no frills or anything fancy but a good hotel for a place to sleep while visiting Yellowstone.

Used W Yellowstone as our base and went to park each day. Couldn't have picked a better hotel. Satff at front desk was great, always friendly & helpful. Our room was on the third floor in the back building. Large sized, with 2 queen beds, frig, microwave, very quiet. Since the first snow of the year came in, we used the heater, it worked great but was a little loud. At breakfast it gets crowded fast but you can fill up before you start to the park. easy walk to local resturants. When we come back, we'll be looking to stay here first.

When our car broke down in West Yellowstone, we needed to find a hotel quick. We liked the fact that they allowed pets. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. Maintenance was not great in that the sink drain didn't work (I did a temporary fix with electrical tape), the bathroom fan was noisy, and the electricity on the wall near the table did not work. But the room was very clean, and the continental breakfast was very good. The attention to detail at the breakfast was excellent ... and in our mind made up for the room deficiencies. The beds were comfortable. The shower was good.

  • Liked — Clean; allowed pets
  • Disliked — Some things needed repair in the room.
