I just wanted to share that if you're thinking of staying anywhere other than a KOA, think again. We were burned bad in Yellowstone by another RV park and will NEVER stay anywhere other than a KOA again. Their facilities and staff are top notch. You'll be soooo thankful you decided to stay with them!

We stayed here for 4 nights in June with a travel trailer. The campground was clean, well maintained and has nice established trees between almost all the sites. Our site was a " back-in, deluxe" site along the property line and had nice views of mountains. The staff was friendly. Was a good base for exploring the northern and wester part of Yellowstone. The sites were a little pricey but overall we were very happy with the campground. We had friends who stayed at a 1 room cabin at the same time and it was clean with good facilities. WIFI worked well from our site.

I must first say that upon arrival my family and I were greeted by friendly

staff. Because of the unusual thaw and warm weather the camp actually opened

early this year and we enjoyed the camp's opening day. Being as such there were

many things such as the indoor swimming pool not being open, lack of most store

supplies and unavailability of the morning/evening food services that were just

plain absent from the experience. In all fairness the staff notified me of the

pool being closed still at the time of booking - so no surprises there. Could

have used the Breakfast/dinner notification but hey we're camping right! I am

not listing these items as a negative but as a matter of testimony as to how

great this KOA is! Without these amenities I would still rate this site as one

of the best KOA's I've been to. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN - kabin and bathrooms alike

were immaculately clean (and this is coming from a military man). Lights were

functional/heaters worked well/no bad smells/convenient restrooms (not too close

or far away). We actually got what we paid for (which is rare today) and

honestly cannot think of one thing that we would consider "disappointing". I

usually expect to have something wrong with a stay at koa (light bulbs/ broke

heater/ bugs/ uncleanliness/ smells in kabins/ marathon runs to bathrooms or so

close you smell/hear the restroom traffic/ parking issues...you name it) but not

this time! - My family and will be back!

pulled in late (about 10:40) and they were still open. staff was tired but still friendly and helpful. even brought us some leveling boards for the deluxe site we booked. BBQ was great (try the ribs) though it is cash only. they also rent bikes for children (And there were alot of them here!) all and all it was an 8.

  • Liked — the food at the BBQ!!
  • Disliked — the barking dog in the site next to me

We spent 4 days at the KOA in West Yellowstone in July. We had one of the deluxe cabins. Our son's girlfriend had never seen mountains before and was just overwhelmed by the scenery in West Yellowstone and Yellowstone Park. Our cabin was great. It was clean and very comfortable. We even got to make smores outside in the fire pit that as readily available. This campground has many amenities (indoor swimming pool, hot tub, bikes to rent, breakfast, dinner, great stopre to shop). Steve, Laurel and boys do a great job. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Jessica's parents from North Dakota want to come out to see this beautiful country.

We stayed in one of the cabins with our daughter and her husband for our first visit to Yellowstone Park. We enjoyed terrific service with a wonderful breakfast. The scenery was breathtaking with picturesque Lionshead overlooking the campground. We were also fortunate to see elk, moose, eagles and bears. The campground was well located to explore the areas rivers, lakes and the national park. The restrooms were very clean and functional. We would recommend this camground to anyone who would like to be centrally located for exploring the West Yellowstone Park area.
The gift shop and the internet service was very useful for us during our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We love KOA's I stayed at this campground on July 30, 2008 with my family and had an excellent stay. The fees were a bit pricey but fit with the prices for food and gas in the area. We experienced no problem with staff or managers as described in other reviews. Use your best judgment as I believe the previous three reviews are from a reunion group camped across from us that got out of hand and would not behave. They had law enforcement out one night in order to put this group to bed. This is a great location outside of town in a very scenic setting. Could not be better. My kids loved the pool even though it was crowded. We also went horseback riding at the ranch next to the KOA.

  • Liked — Pancake breakfasts and super fast WiFi
  • Disliked — It was a busy place - but at peak season it was expected.
