We had boxes lunches for a two day tour and they were delicious. We had the roast beef sandwiches. The bread was dense and chewy(yum). The havarti cheese was awesome. Our box lunch included sandwich, chips, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cookie, drink, candy and all the amenities. Quite a deal for $9.71. We took a lunch with us on the way out of town and had a wonderful picnic on the way to the Tetons. Great food, Ernies.

I visited Yellowstone in 2008 and ate at Ernies for the first time. I made a return trip in 2012 and revisited Ernie's again. Ernie's has expanded their menu to included not only sandwiches, but a whole host of other items including salads and all sorts of breakfast foods. If you're in Yellowstone, swing by and grab breakfast and a lunch before venturing into the park. You won't regret it.

Didn't find this place until leaving the area. This is a GREAT place for a good, quick, delightful breakfast and bakery goods. The service and quality of food was awesome. The next time I return to the Yellowstone area this will be my restaurant of choice. They will make lunches to go. Excellent location for fly fishermen to pick-up a lunch to take fishing with them.

We had breakfast twice at Ernie's and took a box lunch into the park one day. As others mentioned, the kitchen turn around is a little slow (there is only one person making all the food so he actually does really well for the constant volume) but you are on vacation and the park will be waiting when you get there. Loved the corned beef hash with hash brown potatoes - excellent. Husband really liked the eggs benedict and we took peanut butter and ginger cream cookies with us every day. The drink choices line one wall of the restaurant. If they don't stock it, it probably isn't available anywhere! Took a box lunch into the park for a picnic. Sandwiches were large and fresh, condiments were packaged so bread did not get soggy, Same with the lettuce, pickles, onions and tomatoes. Got a dink, apple, cookie and bite sized candy bar for under 10$. All kinds of intersting folks to watch while waiting on rustic picnic tables. There were several people on laptops so the wi-fi seemed to be working well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Freshed bake goods. Nice variety--study the menu. Seems like their take-out sandwiches are not as good as they were in the past. Make sure that they include everything with your take out.
Nice people.
